SD = Scan date
NC = New Claim
MR = Mandatory Reconsideration
CoC = Change of circumstances
LRC = low rate care
MRC = medium rate care
HRC = high rate care
LRM = low rate mobility

Mine as been with a decision maker nearly a week still. Don't no the outcome stressing me out as if it's a decline I need to go to tribunal

I know it’s just the waiting as if we haven’t all waiting for long enough. I’m in the same boat will have to go to tribunal

So just had my renewal letter. They awarded my boy HRC which he already has. And have awarded him LRM which I dont agree with. So have just called up and done a MR . They didnt look at the school evidence.

So lets see how long this will take

This thread really helped with my over thinking so NC (they lost my renewal papers) SD was 24/03 and I received a text saying my son had been awarded yesterday. I did call to check up twice last week (monday and Thursday) on Monday it was in the queue for DM and on the Thursday I was told it was with a DM I received the awarded text a week later. Haven

still no back pay after decision was made a week ago so I’m taking it as declined decision😔 gutted

Positivepositron · 01/05/2026 08:49

I posted earlier to say they hadn't received my renewal papers and I was running out of time. They resent me the renewal papers which arrived the next day so not sure why royal mail is taking a month to deliver to them but everything else is taking a normal time.
Anyway rewrote my renewals as hadn't made a copy unfortunately 😕. Don't think I did ad good a job, paid for special guaranteed next day delivery and have had a text that they have received it now. I know most people pay special delivery anyway but I never had and never had a problem before but I'd very much recommend doing so just for the security of it.
I was hoping I'd done a good enough job of explaining my sons needs to go from MRC and LRM to HRC and HRM but my new form was probably lacking. Will see.

Just been on my online banking and I have an extra payment pending, not due next payment until the 12th so I'm hoping that means they've upped the rates. Does that seem plausible?

Positivepositron · 01/05/2026 09:50

It's lower than my normal payment so half worried they are dropping it and half hopeful it's gone up. How long does the letter normally take?

If you ring back up and chose option 4 right at the end they will tell you the decision

Up to 10 working days to receive the letter. Ring them and they will tell you. Choose option 4 right at the end

I'm a glutton for punishment! Currently waiting for a CoC for my son and NC for my daughter.

CoC SD: 07/04
NC SD: 01/05

Thanks.
I did some more googling and it seems likely it's my last payment pro rated to the end of the renewal date as they haven't processed my renewal yet.

I called again this morning & it’s still in the “holding queue”, apparently it’s been there since the start of April, I don’t really know what the holding queue is. I’m about to go into week 32 since MR SD, madness

It's just at the top of the transactions. I think it's when the instructions have gone to the sending back but not been actioned yet.

Mum0 · 01/05/2026 16:03

Hi does anyone know how long do you get a hearing date for tribunal once they receive the response from DWP x

jokey1976 · 02/05/2026 23:23

I have been waiting for DLA Mandatory Reconsideration .Today week 27 I have had a phone call to say there looking into High Rate Care and a Decision would be made later today .My Question is does this mean I'm likely to get High Rate .Been stress ever since phone call .As It is a Bank Holiday and also Royal Mail don't deliver mail very often and The caller on told me they was looking at it not final decision

Mummyof8sweeties · 03/05/2026 07:15

I didnt realise they worked on a Saturday. Hopw you get what you deserve though 27 weeks is a very long time I cant imagine the anxiety you must be feeling good luck!

jokey1976 · 03/05/2026 10:27

Yes I was shocked at phone call on a Saturday. Anxious is correct. Thankyou for the kind words.

Hi- thought I'd join in.

Had to renew for my DD and she was downgraded from HRC to MRC. The decision was quick and in plenty of time for the renewal. I can understand why she was downgraded as she needs less support than she used to, so it seems fair.

My other DD has also recently had a diagnosis thay made me think she may be entitled. Sent the forms off around a month ago but haven't heard anything yet. Do people normally receive a text by now with the scan date?

Boredgirl139 · 04/05/2026 00:18

Hi

Anyone heard anything with the SD of 26/03? New claim

Hi

Anyone heard anything with the SD of 26/03? New claim

My SD was 24/03 and got awarded via text last thursday. Haven’t received any payment yet or letter so don’t know what the rates are.

Boredgirl139 · 04/05/2026 08:41

Thank you! Hopefully not much longer then until I hear something then

TreeCake · 04/05/2026 10:38

Are new claims generally fairly quick at the moment? A new claim from March already being awarded sounds fast! It took about 25 weeks when I applied for my other DD.

AlertBee · 04/05/2026 10:47

i applied for my son in 2023 and it took 26 weeks. They lost my renewal forms so had to do a new claim but it was a lot quicker this time but they took at least a month to send the forms out 😮‍💨
