MR = Mandatory Reconsideration
CoC = Change of circumstances
LRC = low rate care
MRC = medium rate care
HRC = high rate care

Good luck with your claim.

Thank you. You too. No idea why the post is slow. They do seem to prioritise the parcels at the minute. 🙄

hopefully it’s the same for me then, his renewal is due in october i’m hoping they accept the change of circumstances and extend his award so i don’t have to do the renewal x

Hi all. Joining as i put in my daughters MR 13/03. Declined HRM despite her being a wheelchair user and being prescribed a wheelchair for indoor and outdoor use. Very frustrating. Long wait ahead for us.

COC 12/03/2025 decision was made in September and HRM declined, MR 15/09 decision was made on 11/04, that decision remains the same as my daughter is not "severely mentally impaired" even though she is 6 and a half and has a cognitive age of 18 months old, so I asked for a tribunal hearing on the 20th April. Now her renewal came up and still declined HMR due to her only needing supervision or guidance on unfamiliar routes which is not true so I guess I need to ask for a MR again for her renewal? It's just so frustrating that they had all the information and she still got declined.

Mines with decision maker yesterday after 26 week wait MR hope it's not tribunal as I can see that been a massive wait hope to hear something soon stated claim 4th of August

Just rung and a decision was made on 24th April. Can’t say the decision over the phone so fingers crossed. SD was 20/10/25 such a nerve racking feeling. Hope everyone hears soon and gets the decision they want. Anyone know how long the letter takes to arrive or back payment if decision is accepted.

Hi the SD are random they just pick a pile up and work from them they don’t do date order
my claim was NC SD 09/03 decision was made 20/03 back payment received 24/03

hope this helps, it’s very frustrating however NC are really fast this year 💛

Mummyof8sweeties · 29/04/2026 15:46

Wow its crazy ! Hopefully not too long to wait for us.
Wow that was really quick my daughters NC last febuary took 26 weeks . glad they are getting through them quickly. I imagine they have a good few centers that deal with them? So i guess it just depends on the area and fast they are.

Lea1993 · 29/04/2026 16:31

I have a SD for MR 28.11.2025. Yet to hear anything but finally received reports from educational psychologist, a report from his school counselling and updated risk assessments from school. I’ve sent all in and hoping they’ll look at this evidence to change original decision

Can anyone who has posted fairly recently advise as to when they got the text confirming receipt. I sent renewal form on the 16th April, no text and so I've phoned today and they've not received it yet.
Very worried now as I was very last minute sending it. The lady on the phone says the royal mail are taking a month to deliver to them!!

I sent mine on the 15th April paid for it to be tracked an it said it was delivered on 17th April via Royal Mail ?

Hi all,

First of all apologies if I've messed up this post, new here. I just wanted to get an idea of wait times for a NC, if anyone knows?

I snet a NC on 20th Feb recorded etc and got a receipt that they'd received it a day or two after.

Biting nails waiting. I'm guessing there's no way to find out progress/updates, right? I tried calling but the automated message said they couldn't say.

TIA for your help

Thanks so much for your reply. If it is assigned to a case manager / decision maker I'm guessing it shouldn't be too long? Sorry, the process is so confusing :). I feel like it'd save them a lot of time if they just updated people, haha.

Will definiely give them a call tomorrow and perserve.

Ur very welcome, when assigned to a case manager/ desicion maker it can take a day a few hours or weeks I think it depends how complex the disability is. Deffo ring ur allowed to Ring and ask where ur claim is 💛
