I’m coming into week 32 now sent MR off 10/09/26. I have called weekly and had the exact same answer. Does it go by the date it’s scanned in or the date they received the MR form. I remember back in October I rang as didn’t hear nothing of the receiving and the lady said we will scan I through for you now. So is my date from the day she scanned it in. It’s all so confusing. It’s been such a long wait of 32 weeks and lots of people on here hearing back from October now. Any help is appreciated x

Hello it’s the date they scanned your evidence in so yours will be from the October xx

I sent the MR in on 16th october in plenty of time, I didnt hear anything for ages so while I was on the phone for my other son's renewal I checked that they received it all and was told exactly the same, they received it in October, will scan it in now!! I hope that doesn't mean I have a scan date of 3/12!! Its been such a long wait already! I hope you hear something soon x

Ours is the 30th. I haven't heard anything yet. I will ring by week five. It was freepost and I am concerned that it might have gotten lost.

Thank you for the reply both. Perhaps with the Easter holidays and double bank holiday, this has caused further delay with new claims. I will give it until the 6wks and phone back

Oh I feel you. MR SD 23/9, still waiting, it’s been with a DM since 5th April, called again this morning, still with DM, it’s driving me insane. I thought it was quite quick once it reached the DM but apparently not. I hope you’re not waiting too much longer

Yes mine was in the free post return envelope they sent with the claim pack. Fortunately I photographed every page and evidence I sent with it so if it’s lost, maybe able to print and post again 🥴

I phoned today to check that my childs renewal forms had been received and was told that a decision has been made and MRC will continue. I am grateful for this decision and the financial help is amazing but we all have disturbed nights due to their wandering around the house, verbal stims when they wake up in the night and meltdowns from sensory/emotional dysregulation, I don't really have any proof of this though and only sent in a sleep diary.
Do I just accept this decision or is it worth asking them to look at it again? Also what proof could I send in?
My concern is what if they look again and decide to reduce the claim...??
Help please, any advice will be appreciated x

Reposting because may have been missed with it being at the bottom of a page.
I have since called up to ask if any reason noted as to why night time needs were not taking into consideration and was told that there are no notes from the decision maker at all, literally just that original claim has been renewed....has anyone else had this..?

I had the same with my DD they didn't take night time needs into consideration, I done a MR and they still decided to remain with original decision of MRC as not enough evidence for night time needs. The only documents that stated her night needs was EP report and CAMHs referral and obviously what I had said, I think it needs acknowledgement of a consultant but the waitlist to see one of those is too long, already waited 3 years still another 1/1.5years left to wait. You could try MR if its still within 1 month of the renewal decision.

Hi,
MR scan date 20th October 2025- Rang last Tuesday it had been with a dm the day before Monday 13th April.
haven’t rang to check on it yet but no payment received. How long do you think it would be with a dm for

Ac100 · 20/04/2026 15:47

Just rang again to confirm SD I’m 20/10/25 still waiting for case to be allocated. I hope everyone gets answers soon

Are we able to argue this at all? I sent my form using the free post and it took 3 weeks for it to arrive meaning we missed the date. It feels unfair we won’t receive the back pay because Royal Mail are so slow

MR 15/09 also declined for HRM , I just completed the online form for tribunal and they gave DWP until 18th May to respond, if you are interested I can keep you posted

So gutting isnt it. Do i need to wait for the letter before i can fill out the form online? Also what do the dwp have to respond to? Yes please that would be good xx

You need the letter as they ask for the date it got sent out. I found the form quite easy to complete they ask about your child and why you think the decision is wrong. You can also add evidence. After DWP has 28 days to respond.

I know its juat really not fair i think they should take into consideration royal mails timescales especially recently,. Im going 2-3weeks without post at the moment and then when I get posting have a massive stack! Royal mail have alot to answer for seriously. I am going to ring to tomorrow and ask them to note down that I actually sent it with plenty of time to make the cut off point (12 days! ) .

Yes exactly the same here! I also sent with plenty of time to get there which is what it tells you to do within the form, so I don’t see why it shouldn’t be backdated when we have sent it back within the 6 weeks. Please could you update if you manage to speak to them tomorrow?
