Just incase anyone made the mistake of sending free post for a NC . I sent it on the 12th of march , Had a text to say recieved on the 31st however they couldn't find my son on the system . I rang on the 8th April and they actually did find my sons claim something to do with his name however they recieved it on the 30th of march. I do have a question though if amyone can help. My forms had to be recieved by the 23rd of march I assumed they would have arrived by that point considering I sent on on text 12th . Is it likely that if im awarded they now wont backdate to when I originally requested the forms? As i really struggled with filling the forms out and it took a long time to get everything written down is there anyway to ask them if they could backdate as it was still sent in plenty of time and should have arrived .

Hi. This happened to us. We mistakingly sent it free post a week before it was due. My husband rang the day before it was due to confirm if they had it they said no but made a note we had send it. They received it five days after the due date and have not back dated the payment so we missed out on seven weeks worth of award. So annoying.

Ah thats so frustrating!! I even rang royal mail who told me that its 2-4 working days for the free post however they dont send the DWP letters single they wait for a bundle to deliver them all at once!! To be honest a few days they should allow as they need to realise royal mail take their sweet time delivering anything now that and the fact some people have trouble filling in forms like that myself included (Dyslexia and struggle to put things into words ) .

Ah sorry you was refused. Did they give you a reason. I think you have to wait for the letter then you can request to go to tribunal. Not 100% sure though. My MR is currently with a DM & it’s killing me

NC

Nidfor · 13/04/2026 13:01

COC scan date 13/02 - pending payment

Does anyone know if I wait for the letter or call up now for statement of reasons? Care award increased but applied for HRM too which seems to have been declined x

AugustLily · 13/04/2026 14:56

Looking for some advice, MR 15/09 and ongoing renewal for 11/06 , decision was made on 11/04 for the MR. Sent extra information today mentioned to be considered for both. Would they accept it as late evidence for the MR and look at the decision again ?

Call for statement of reasons now. You dont need to wait for the letter.

Finally had some good news after nearly 9 month and several times my daughters MR was took off system by 'mistake' and being told to then do a coc to be then declined as needed to be an Mr and statement of reasons being that contidictory it was hilarious and not fit for purpose. Mr then reopened when someone finally admitted they messed up to be kept in holding queue for further month un registered again she's now finally had decision overturned to HRM good luck too all waiting 🤞

How long are everyones NC taking?

5weeks I had a decision

Perthesmum · 14/04/2026 11:00

Just some advice - a decision was finally made on the 4th April .. however have not received the letter yet .. haven’t received any payments .. and the lady on the phone said she couldn’t tell me the decision. Seeing as it’s been about 10 days since the decision was made … is the likelihood that the MR has been declined? Has anyone been awarded MR but waited longer than 10 days for a payment?

Sammyjane26x · 14/04/2026 11:33
