I did a MR on 2nd Sept and I got told it was with a case manager on Monday, dos anyone know how long it’s normally with a case manager for please

Hello, from what I’ve seen it usually takes about a week, but if they need more info I think it can take a couple of weeks, hopefully won’t be too long! Good luck!

Hi,
My universal credit journal has updated to say 'other benefits affecting your claim' and says in receipt of carers allowance. Which i have been getting for a year anyway, but does anyone know if this updates again when DLA have looked at your claim? Wondering if ive got the notification again because they've done the renewal.
Thanks

I got the same notification this morning. When I called on Friday it wasn't with a decision maker.

Renewal ends 03/07. My scan date was 25/02 and just received letter to say awarded for another 2 years. They seem to be working their way through renewals very quickly!

324Mumoftwo · 16/03/2026 12:40

My daughter has a long term bone condition, that will only get worse and effect her more.

we have just had a decisiin that our claim has been declined.

wouldnit be quicker to do a new claim or do I have to do a MR . Many thanks

How quick that’s fabulous, my renewal 28th may, I’ve only just sent mine I’ve been super un organised so I’m hoping mine are done before then, did you send more evidence this time? I’ve sent more Clare plans, diagnosis’, and more referrals but also stuff from last time to. This is my first time renewing hopefully Itll go ok

MelloYellow · 16/03/2026 13:10

I rang this morning MR scanned 5/9/26
Still not with a decision maker
He said it is just around the corner and he repeated that phrase about 4 times
But on a few weeks if still nothing I can dispute it
Very very bizarre and draining

Yes just recent cardiac reports for my son. He’s on home oxygen 24/7, on feeding tube day and night and also has a stoma. Just filled out the forms with a lot of details about the care I have to give through out the day and night and for awarded High rate again.

Hello, my scan date is also 5/9/2025 I haven’t bothered calling yet because they drain the life out of me when they read that script out telling you not to call for updates 🤣 ahhh I feel your frustration! Beginning of may 2025 this all started it’s wild how long it takes! My local MP even contacted them on my behalf for an update 4 weeks ago and still have heard nothing just need to wait it out I guess! Can you update this page when you get your decision please?

Can I ask what date is on your letter as I know it takes a few days to arrive from being issued?

our claim ends 31/05, forms for renewal were scanned 03/03

for context we applied feb 2024, decision for hrc and lrm in July 2024, I sent extra evidence and asked for MR but it was sent back to DM who kept award the same so I requested MR again. The MR was declined so I appealed in Jan 2025, and the appeal was set for October 2025. 15 minutes before the hearing a panel judge called me to say the award had been granted as hrc and hrm until the end of the claim and that I didn’t need to attend the hearing. An order was issued to both myself and the DWP. Sadly the award ends in May so renewal forms were sent out 8 weeks after the tribunal and I can’t help but think that it’s going to be a battle all over again

Yes I would do a new claim if i were you, I read on here that someone done another new claim instead of MR and was awarded the second time, I think its worth a shot doing it that way first as the MRs seem to be taking months upon months, if still declined second time then do an MR. Try to gather as much evidence as you can even all appointment letters ect and you could ask your GP for the child's health records too, good luck 👍

Liya1xx · 16/03/2026 18:40

my daughter got awarded on the 13th for HRC backdated from 10th march due to forms being 7 weeks late i tried to change it on my UC claim but they said they cant verify due to details being incorrect how do i do it and where it says when was the change do i put 10th march because its saying i should put her DOB. Im only applying for disabled child element as i already get carers for my other daughter x
