Hey all :) Posted my sons renewal using the freepost envelope a couple of weeks ago. I usually send all the forms tracked but the card machine wasn't working at the Post Office, I was in a rush and the staff assured me it would be fine. I called this morning and it's still not been received/scanned in. Anyone with any words of reassurance? The lady on the phone was lovely and said it can take up to 6 weeks, but I'm getting a little worried.

Hi, I posted my daughters NC they signed for it on 16th February, I received a txt 09/03 to say it’s been scanned, I was calling daily after 14 days as was worrying even tho it was signed for they can still lose the forms or misplace them. I was told it can can upto 6 weeks to be scanned on the system, mine was 21 days . 💛

Hi ladies, I would like some advice please. I did a coc for mobility for my 6 year old under SMI as he has 0 danger awareness functionING at an 18 month old developmentally. I sent in a report from school and risk assessment explaining how his not allowed on school trip due to no danger awareness at all and risk of running wen dysregulated, in the report there was a memtion of how he was observed listening to a fire drill with his key worker. It was declined reason being he listened to a fire drill

His also not allowed in the main classroom and is taught in a specialised base unit along with another child because he is non verbal and can get overwhelmed easily and physical this was mention on the report

Liya1xx · 12/03/2026 13:34

Does anyone know how long it takes for a decision once with a decision maker?x

Hi everyone, I know this is for Children/DLA, but I just wanted to see if anyone knew much about the MR process for PIP? My daughter turned 16, so we had to apply for PIP…we had the letter and she has been awarded HRC and SRM. She was awarded 10 points on mobility, because it would cause overwhelming psychological distress, but the criteria for 12 is “Cannot follow the route of a familiar journey without another person, an assistance dog, or an orientation aid” and the fact is that she can’t, she can’t go anywhere on her own whether she’s familiar with it or not, she hasn’t left the house for over a year and even if she did, there’s not a chance she could do it on her own.
I can provide a further letter from her occupational therapist and psychiatrist, but they made it fairly clear (I thought) in the letter I sent the first time, where it states her challenges impact every aspect of her life and prevent her from carrying out essential daily living tasks OR leaving the
home independently.
Do you think I should ask for a MR under these circumstances?
Thanks for reading

Hi im sorry I cant answer your question as my son is 16 in August so he will be changing over to pip im dreading it 😬.
im sure someone will hopefully reply who does no but if not id give pip a call and ask them the process and what part you disagree with and say that you've already evidenced it Can they look at it again xx

Kaz87 · 13/03/2026 11:33

Hi all I only just posted my daughters coc but she is turning 16 in may, what does that mean for her claim ? She has been awarded until her 17th birthday which is may 2027, does it mean that i need to apply for pip after she turns 16? Would she still be getting her dla until award date ? Sorry for all the questions this is so confusing.

Liya1xx · 13/03/2026 12:05

Hi, so I had to deal with pip for my eldest in 2024 and they were a pain. Firstly did they do an assessment? With my son they didn’t so that was part of my mr, I also went through each descriptor and highlighted what they awarded and then wrote a statement for each one I didn’t agree with and what descriptor he should have been awarded based on their own guidelines. He went from no award at all to enhanced in both care and mobility for 6 years. Xx

Yeah they can do, my friend ended up in hospital to have emergency surgery and got kept in for two weeks and she had to take them to tribunal as they wouldn’t accept that as a valid reason xx

Its so bad! I moved house at christmas and our gp let us go i had to find a new gp which then accepted us finally 13th january i went to them asking them for access to my daughters nhs app for her documents as i couldnt access anymore i had to wait an extra 28 days for proxy access, soooo annoying what a inconvenient time for it to all happen! x

I’ve sent my daughter’s renewal yesterday I just sent pretty much what I sent last time with some care plans that’s have to be implemented in school and home and now a sensory processing diagnosis. Do people find there’s go down on renewals. Currently getting MRC AND LRM
