Making hay while the sun shines and always adoring Beatrice.

I have chosen the thread title this time, because current circumstances means the sun isn't always shining for Beatrice at the moment. Indeed, she is currently in hospital in a fair amount of discomfort. However, when the sun does shine, and we have bright and clear days, we pack in as much as we can. Smile

When we brought Beatrice home from SCBU, we had the consultant's words ringing in our ears, 'Take her home and make some memories.' I feel confident and proud that we have made a treasure trove of memories, however long Beatrice's life may be. She continues to be surrounded by so much love and adoration from her family and I feel this love has helped her to thrive.

During the difficult days, such as these, we pray hard for peace and calm, and for a quick resolution so we can take our darling girl home and make even more precious memories with our beautiful Beatrice.

As with all other threads, same rules apply Wink, read if you want to, post if you can, but above all, please spare some positive thoughts or prayers for Beatrice. Smile

good news xx i remember ds had to practically live at my parents for a while when dd was tiny and in hospital - they really do adjust and adapt very quickly - more traumatic for parents than children Smile.hope the gorgeous girl keeps improving

Today dh came and sat with Beatrice while I went to work for medium term planning. That's right, I left the hospital! And did something not related to Beatrice! Or my other girls for that matter! Wink

It was very refreshing to grab a brief change of scenery and as I contributed towards the planning for next term at school, I briefly forgot the burdens of hospital.

However, soon enough I came back to Beatrice and haven't really put her down since. Unfortunately she is really stuffed up today and has vomited her mucous on 3 occasions since I've been back. Her heartrate is also higher, but I hope she's just working it all out of her system. It felt very strange to have to ask the nurse to read me the notes from the doctors' round. I don't think I've ever missed one before. I think Beatrice has forgiven me though. Wink

She hasn't smiled in about a month now, which plays at the back of my mind, so I was quite pleased when she started doing a new 'trick'. If you kiss her on her chubby cheek, she instinctively moves her head so that her lips are kissing yours- pretty unhygienic I guess, but very lovely all the same. Smile

Sod hygiene, that sounds delicious Smile. And I'm sure Bea doesn't for one second hold your going into work against you - probably extra happy to see a happy mummy x

out2lunch · 31/05/2012 17:13

how lovely x

youarekidding · 31/05/2012 17:16

hygeine smygeine - I'm sure a kiss off Beatrice is just what you both need. Grin

PMSL that medium term planning was something to look forward too - we have been cursing ours all week. Wink

ripsishere · 31/05/2012 17:58

Smygiene sounds lovely.
My DD used to kiss me like that, DH does occasionally still do it.
Glad to hear she is on the mend.

Northernlurker · 31/05/2012 18:45

Good to read your update. The new trick sounds very cute! Will pray for more smiles too. Smile

cupofteaplease · 31/05/2012 19:58

I know, MTP is hardly exciting, but any break away from these four walls is an adventure!

Grin rips Yes I think my dh used to kiss me on the lips too!

Talking of dh, he brought my laptop to the hospital this morning. I can't get on the internet with it, so I started up a word document instead. I started writing about Beatrice's birth, and before I knew it I'd bashed out 1000 words, and I've hardly started! I think writing on MN has been very cathartic, so maybe going into more detail, especially about my late pregnancy and Beatrice's birth, will help me get over the bitterness I still feel when I see pregnant women.

What a clever Bea.

ripsishere · 31/05/2012 20:02

Good scheme, whether you choose to publish it or just keep the 'diary' for your own sanity, it can't help.

ripsishere · 31/05/2012 20:04

I can't remember the last time my DH kissed me on the lips rather than cheek. That's a sad confession eh?
We live in different countries and our lives seem to centre solely on our DD.
I am rather miffed having thought that thought.
You, on the other hand, are making a positive thing come out of something trying - for want of a better word.

youarekidding · 31/05/2012 20:15

MTP is definately an adventure Grin When are you due to return to work? Have you managed to sort out some childcare yet? I really wish you all the best for your return - I know teaching is a very difficult job. (I'm just an LSA!)

I'm glad you have your laptop and are finding writing it all down useful. The more of your posts I read the more I just wanna give you a (((hug))). With regards to the internet could you get a dongle or whatever they are called to get access when your in hospital?

The whole teaset will be in my prayers as usual.

neverputasockinatoaster · 31/05/2012 20:29
