Making hay while the sun shines and always adoring Beatrice.

I have chosen the thread title this time, because current circumstances means the sun isn't always shining for Beatrice at the moment. Indeed, she is currently in hospital in a fair amount of discomfort. However, when the sun does shine, and we have bright and clear days, we pack in as much as we can. Smile

When we brought Beatrice home from SCBU, we had the consultant's words ringing in our ears, 'Take her home and make some memories.' I feel confident and proud that we have made a treasure trove of memories, however long Beatrice's life may be. She continues to be surrounded by so much love and adoration from her family and I feel this love has helped her to thrive.

During the difficult days, such as these, we pray hard for peace and calm, and for a quick resolution so we can take our darling girl home and make even more precious memories with our beautiful Beatrice.

As with all other threads, same rules apply Wink, read if you want to, post if you can, but above all, please spare some positive thoughts or prayers for Beatrice. Smile

Good morning.

Beatrice had a relatively settled night in the oxygen box, but crashed again this morning. I didn't even flinch this time- I must be getting desensitized to the drama!

Thanks for the offers to help- if you were close enough I'd bite your hand off. We aren't using a removals company- dh will be doing it with his brother and a friend, so unfortunately getting help from the professionals isn't an option. It means so much that people are thinking of Beatrice, thank you.

I am in Kent and can travel.

Maybe if people say where they are you can say if they are near enough?

bishboschone · 22/10/2012 09:34

Good idea fabulous . I'm in West Sussex .

lisad123 · 22/10/2012 09:43

I'm in Herts, not too far away but sadly having to make visit to Wales this weekend. Happy to help with anything extra before hand or after.

treedelivery · 22/10/2012 09:52

I'm too far away but, heavens, if everyone even stuck in a fiver we'd meet the costs of a packing service. If that was what you felt would help I'm more than happy.

Thinking of Bea and all.

cupofteaplease · 22/10/2012 09:56

I'm actually terrible at geography, so I've no idea where is close by! We're in South Northants. I really appreciate the offers, but I don't expect people to physically come and help. Just knowing there is virtual support is a great help.

Has anyone got the knowhow to open a paypal account? I would love to chip in something towards some moving help (or anything) for the Teaset.

DutchOma · 22/10/2012 10:21

Praying all the time.

LateDeveloper · 22/10/2012 10:26

This is so tough for you all. I feel bad posting about the practicalities of moving when Bea is so poorly but a few tips

Get lots of boxes (more than you think you need) Have a friend/relative make them up and label them with which room the contents are to go in. You always need loads more kitchen and living room ones than you think.

Don't overfill boxes - you dont want them to heavy to lift or to break so mix heavy books with something light but bulky - a cushion for example. If you just do a straight transfer - e.g. all stuff from living room in old house is to go to living room in new house then other people can pack for you.

leave out tea making stuff and a few plates etcs plus and overnight bag for you and kids 9pack as if you were going away for a self catering weekend so toiletries and meds plus clothes and crucially fave kid toys

make sure you label the bedding boxes so you can make up beds easily

I'm sure that if call a removal firm they will quote you a price just for the packing part even if you don't need them to do the actual moving itself. This website might be a good starting point

On the subject of moving and assistance for you in doing this...esp at the moment....how could we as MNers make our very easy financial deposits so you can enlist a company or some hands on deck to help you?

Does anyone know how we could do Paypal deposits to an account for Teaset and family???

Just need OP to set one up and give us the account name.....more than happy to be of help in this way OP...as many of us would be...please consider accepting this helping hand from us xx

CaroleService · 22/10/2012 11:56

cup. Just focus on Bea, everything else can wait xx

PacificDogwood · 22/10/2012 16:17

Thinking of you often - as my gran used to say 'That, and 2 pound fifty would get me a bus ticket'.
I'd be more that happy to put that in to a Basket for Bea Smile.

Strength sent her and your way, and good luck with the move when it comes x.

youarewinning · 22/10/2012 16:22

Still thinking of you. I hope Bea's had a more settled day after this morning.

Agree about paypal account. As we're all willing to travel if it's easier to donate the petrol money and more helpful I'm all up for it. x

pannetone · 22/10/2012 16:22

Another candle lit for Beatrice at church today.

Another one here wanting to give to a 'help out' fund. In the circumstances it seems the best way we can help by hopefully taking some of the financial pressure and practical hassle of the move from you. Please see it as the best sort of gift for Beatrice - we want you and your DH to be able to be with Beatrice as much as you can - without all the extra worry of the packing up and move. x

cupofteaplease · 22/10/2012 16:27

I've just had a food parcel delivered by a lovely friend- shepherd's pie, tikka masala, oat cookies and juice- real food!!!!

Right, I think I'm set up on PayPal- elizabethrogers(at)live(dot)co(dot)uk

I hope that works. I tried to open a hotmail account in Bea's name, but I can't access the site from my phone so I thought, oh sod it and used my own email account.

pannetone · 22/10/2012 16:56

whatthewhatthebleep · 22/10/2012 17:00

great...sent to your account...hoping it helps xx

cupofteaplease · 22/10/2012 17:06

Thank you so much Smile I'll get Googling for a local removal firm who might be able to help pack at short notice.

Hello

Please forgive us crashing in to the thread. We're all thinking of Bea at MNHQ.

Some of us at MNHQ have met cupofteaplease and we're sure lots of you on here 'know' her one way or the other too, but it is our practice in situations like this (where MNers are very generously helping each other out) to remind people not to give more of themselves, financially or emotionally, than they can afford.

Best wishes to Bea and the rest of the family - and hope the house move goes well.
