SN children

Making hay while the sun shines and always adoring Beatrice.

I have chosen the thread title this time, because current circumstances means the sun isn't always shining for Beatrice at the moment. Indeed, she is currently in hospital in a fair amount of discomfort. However, when the sun does shine, and we have bright and clear days, we pack in as much as we can. Smile

When we brought Beatrice home from SCBU, we had the consultant's words ringing in our ears, 'Take her home and make some memories.' I feel confident and proud that we have made a treasure trove of memories, however long Beatrice's life may be. She continues to be surrounded by so much love and adoration from her family and I feel this love has helped her to thrive.

During the difficult days, such as these, we pray hard for peace and calm, and for a quick resolution so we can take our darling girl home and make even more precious memories with our beautiful Beatrice.

As with all other threads, same rules apply Wink, read if you want to, post if you can, but above all, please spare some positive thoughts or prayers for Beatrice. Smile

I was moved to tears by your OP too.
I have posted on these threads a couple of times before as I was in your original October group - my little girl was born on 25th October, and like Bea she's tiny and dark haired and there's a photo of Bea in a red woolen dress that my DD has too, every time I see that dress it makes me think of Bea.
I have said it before but I'll say it again - you are an amazing mum, and are doing a fantastic job. Keep strong and positive thoughts from us.

Hi, thanks for the prayers and positivity- Beatrice had a very settled night and woke this morning looking a lot more alert. I've been out for a few hours this morning to watch dd1 in her class assembly, open some post at home and go to Toys R Us to buy Beatrice a Tiny Love cot mobile to look at while she recovers.

I've got back and she's sleeping comfortably. I hope they try to reduce her o2 later to see how she does.

Oh that's good to hear, Cup. Glad you got to see DD1 - it must be so hard for you juggling everything and making sure your other DDs don't miss out on too much with you! xx

My days, your life is one of being torn in so many ways. You are doing a fine job.
Beatrice will be prayed for at DDs confirmation practice mass this evening.

Yes Thumb it's very tricky! PIL are just amazing, they have pretty much taken over the care of the girls the last 2 weeks so that dh can work his shifts and I can be with Beatrice. However, the girls' teachers offered for them to both to stay out of class after the assembly today to spend 15 minutes or so with dh and I as I haven't seen them since Monday. As the younger children filed out of assembly, I called dd2 over for a cuddle and asked her if she wanted to stay and play, but she declined as she had choosing time to get to! Priorities! At least they aren't missing me, it's better that they are confident and happy to be at school and with grandparents I guess, although I miss them terribly!

Love to think of Bea having a nice comfy sleep. Cup you are amazing at meeting everyone's needs. Your girls sound as if they are surrounded by loving people and feeling very secure.

What a good mum you are to all your girls. Dd2 was happy to go and do her thing because she knows you will be there for her when she needs you. You are doing great. So pleased Bea has had a settled night Smile
I will go update the prayer thread.

I do follow Beatrice's thread but hardly ever post. The opening post of this thread however moved me completely to tears. I think you are an inspiration for everyone with an ill or disabled child, and indeed for anyone going through personal difficulties. Best wishes to you all.

I'm so glad she's feeling more comfortable cup and you got time for your other dd's x

I agree with eightytwenty - I have a mountain of baby stuff that I've not got round to sorting if there is anything Beatrice might like xx

Ah thank you for the offers of things for Beatrice Smile I shall have a look at the link you gave eightytwenty when I get on the laptop next time.

I've turned down Beatrice's o2 to .5 and her sats have stayed at 100% !

Her cough is worse today, but as she has a weak and ineffective cough, it's almost a good thing to hear it. If that makes sense? I'm keeping her comfortable with some amateur chest physio- she doesn't seem to mind my inexperienced palms banging away on her sides, it's sent her to sleep!

They've spaced out the morphine and she appears to be coping. I'm so thankful.

cup do you have a gym ball? They are great for doing chest physio on - especially just bouncing baby up and down! The softness and curve of it makes it easier for LO with physical difficulties.

Glad things are improving.
