Made a new thread for those of you who need to discuss wait times and ask questions!
Please post your scan dates etc

NC = New Claim
MR = Mandatory Reconsideration
SC = Scan Date

Im waiting on outcome of my DD's renewal due 29/09/2026

I was going to ring today but I’m going to leave it now till tomorrow. I’ve just been to school to drop off my son’s snack bag and the deputy head asked if I was free for a word. Our school got a new senco at the beginning of the school year, however, the deputy head had taken over my sons SEN care etc at school prior to that. She had just got off a call with dla regarding my son. She said it really had come at the right time coz it’s taking 2 members of staff, multiple hours to keep him safe and regulated and she made sure she got that in as much as possible - alongside the constant supervision at lunch time, the fact he’s been moved classes to one with no external door (this has really upset me - he’s been split from his only friend and his old classroom is the only one with pets and he was so sad last night) and lots of other things (that im not writing coz ive vowed not to cry today!) She also said that they said “thank you for your time, we have enough information now” so I’m assuming it’s in the final stages of being with a decision maker. Sd is 31/7

@Dannidanni2106 that seems really positive! Sounds like you will get a decision soon x

Declined on 3rd October. Gutted, reasons being child her age 6 can awake in the night and need resettling, no formal diagnosis, few other ones x

Is that really what there doing now? This is my 2nd renewal last time my end date was sometime in March and I got a decision in February? Hopefully not to long before you hear something! Good luck!

Mines the same week as you? I knew I should've had them by now! I kept working it out and kept second guessing myself but I phoned this morning they said i should've received them at least 2 3 weeks ago but nothing was sent out "system error" whatever they want to blame it on so they said they've sent some out today can take upto 10 days to get them then send them back ASAP! Going to go get everything sorted get everything printed off and all letters i need from my sons teachers and senco file so that its all ready just hope it comes before the kids break up for half term so they can fill in the parts they need to!! Thank you for letting me know!

@ByShyDreamer when was your scan date again? I’ve seen a lot of declines also! It’s not giving me much hope at all as I don’t yet have a diagnosis for my boy he’s only 2 so they will say some of the behaviours and amount of care needed is normal! It’s so frustrating isn’t it I’m so sorry x

If it's declined do they tell you on the phone?

Yeah they can tell you, it just depends who answers the phone. They should be able to tell you though. Just say you don’t get regular post at the moment and don’t want to miss the chance of doing a MR if it’s declined because of the time frame xx

Thanks. I should probably call I just don't know if I'm ready to face a decline.

I know it’s so hard isn’t it, but at least if it is a decline you can start trying to find more evidence etc. hope you get a good outcome xx

Hey guys I called today scan date 24th July. They said it’s been allocated a descion maker, I am down for a txt when the decision is made how reliable is that? The advice put the note in the account .

we have the job centre coming at us so bad that’s why Im stressed out, waiting on one department to stop the other department it’s a joke 😂

its only becuse my high rate care daughter went to live with her dad, my partner works part time but they are saying its not enough hours ans threatening us.
i am a carer for my other high rate son. I’m getting stressed with it I’m never really called on my other claims just waited but when job centre are threatening sanctions etc it’s so stressful. Especially when we lost all that income from my daughter only 8 weeks ago as well

Yeah definitely get it done but plenty of time as he done week pior to renewal date I sent off ehcp ep report risk assessment suspension letters diagnosis letter medication letter senco letter and her new specialist school did a letter to them write up from myself

Just called spoke to a really nice chap. He said the payment was from the old award so that’s paid up to date. He said it’s currently with a case worker as we speak but no decision has been made yet.

Hi - haven't called yet I'm going to leave it another day and hope we get some joy. I will likely call if I've not heard anything by Thursday. It sounds silly as it would be better to know but I've got a lot going on as we all had here and would struggle with the energy right know to face a decline and MR after nearly 11 weeks waiting.

Just an update, my caring responsibilities were verified last week. And the disabled child element was verified today. So 8 working days total. It’s been sent to the backdating team.

@Hopefullyitcan i totally get what you mean it’s going to take a lot of energy mentally aswell with a decline! Hopefully we all get some good news xx

Absolutely. What options do you select when you call after the part telling you to hang up if calling about updates?

I always go for option 4 I find them most helpful x

I called. No decision made. They just said no reason to call again unless we need information off you and the backlog is huge. My scan date is 24/7 so looks like they still haven't cleared that date.
