On the grounds that senco say he’s not like that at school but he hides it at school. I even told he’s teachers he said to me he’s scared about he’s friends and teachers knowing so he holds it all in as soon as we pick him up he lets it all out all the worries he’s had in the day at school how scared he was. I tell him he needs to tell a teacher but he won’t. And because they see he looks ok they think he’s ok! But they aren’t inside he’s head! Anyone else had the same issue? Will do a mr but am I wasting my time

I’m sorry to hear this. You’re not wasting your time at all. Definitely do a MR.

Lulubells95 · 05/10/2026 14:08

So sorry to hear that 😕...my son is the same. Did you have any evidence at all from school or any health professionals?

My son's primary saw all his issues but his high school aren't great, however they contradict themselves because they say he's fine but then acknowledge and agree with me and now he has a SEND plan etc ...hoping it's enough but I worry they may decline for same reasons X are you doing an MR?

Yes doing a mr. The school are crap. I got messages from the school system me contacting teachers that he’s struggling needs extra toilet breaks. Another teacher saying he’s wet himself he was upset. Me telling teachers he won’t approach them and suffers in silence. I sent in nurse school refgeral
for he’s ocd anxiety that’s all I had. They see him 3 times and said he needs extra nhs help so we are now waiting for camhs. But they school have done nothing since just assume he’s fine

Hi all,

Sorry for a really silly question. I phoned up the DLA telephone line to ask the status of my claim (backdated 18th August). The automated voice said “if you haven’t heard from us and have made a claim, hang up” so I did. A lot of people on here are posting saying they got to talk to someone and confirm whether it’s been scanned in, how do I do this please? I received a text on 4th September saying they’ll make a decision in 25 weeks. They have asked for ID which I have provided and they have returned last week.

schools can be a nightmare, they said my son was fine for a year then I asked them to actually speak to all his teacher,
that’s when they came with me with concerns of asd. They helped me refer him to cdc, then my son got a hair cut and the finge was to short, couldn’t block his face.
doctors signed him off school
not just for the hair cut but significant masking and burnt it for to long.
he didn’t eat or drink in school got 8 months they weren’t concerned about that until a doctor put it on her letter of signing him off.
it’s shocking as he binge eats so bad at night leading to weight gain, he was a 30 waist at the start of year 7 he just gone into year 9 and he is a 38.
take him doctors for anxiety honestly love, they helped me so much with just one letter being very blunt with the school.
i don’t know if i been accepted yet but I have school and doctors evidence. A year ago they would have said no concerns.

they are only on the middle of July at the moment, if they sent your id back then it means it’s all been scanned and them
saying they received it means
everthing is as it should be hun

JAZ44004 · 05/10/2026 15:48

Popping my non update update on! New claim.
Date sent: 23/07/26
Text received to say they got it: 28/07/26
Letter received to say they have it: 22/08/2026 dated 15/08/26.
Current wait: 9 weeks, 6 days as of 05/10/26.
Location: Surrey (in case location matters).

19 mins of calling and was answered!! Felt like a world record. Recalled as on 1st September I requested copies of my forms and haven’t actually received them so requested them again and also asked for an update. It is currently in the case manager’s queue waiting to be picked up. No idea what this means but hopefully getting somewhere!

Update, got through to the loveliest lady. We’ve had a positive decision, made 30/09/2026 for HRC & LRM which is exactly what I was hoping. She said my daughter’s back pay will be paid tomorrow. She was so nice. I did call Thursday and I was told it hadn’t been allocated to a DM so not 100% sure what happened there lol

Good luck to all of you waiting x

Congratulations

Omg I’m so sorry to hear that

were gutted but I’ve contacted the gp
to
write is a letter about he’s needs and I have proof I reach out to the school about the needs and get nothing back. She did say it’ll be less time to send a new claim! But then we won’t get it back
dated. I think I could of done my form better I wasn’t as detailed as I should have been so i think ill
do a mr but re write the original form to put in with it incase I missed something which knowing me I probably did. How long roughly are MRs taking once sent in and scanned? Need to print a new form and all the evidence again and extra I’ve got like messages and emails to The school before I send it off

Stressed1985 · 05/10/2026 17:25

Scan date 23rd july, still no decision has been made. This is excruciating. Congrats to those who had a positive decision. Massive sorry to those who weren't successful, sending vitual strength for yet another fight.

Hopefullyitcan · 05/10/2026 17:42

Still nothing for me although I haven't phoned them. If it's a decline do they tell you on the phone or do you have to wait for the letter? Gradually losing hope.

Scan date 24th July

abcflower · 05/10/2026 18:08

I’ve still heard nothing about my sons renewal scan date 06-07/26 current away expired 03/10/26

Dannidanni2106 · 05/10/2026 18:57

I’m scan date 31/7 and the wait is driving me mad. I’m fully expecting a decline but his needs have increased since we applied and I’ve got a meeting at work tomorrow after having to leave for the 5th time in a month coz he was too dysregulated to carry on in school and I think it’s curtains for my job. I’m going to ring tomorrow I think. Has anyone at all been awarded today?

May I ask what they declined you on?

Nataliepb90 · 05/10/2026 19:37

@Babybell8 you can do an MR within 30 days of the original decision being made and it will be looked at by the original decision maker quicker. I sent in the extra evidence and called them and they out it straight into the queue and it was looked at within 48hrs

thank you I contacted the gp for a supporting letter and got so much to print off. I’m going to re write a form out more detailed as part of the mr my husband is going to help me. Im
mot great with forms so a new form, extra evidence and gp supporting letter and reasoning for why the school
are lacking hopefully it’s enough 🤞🏻 xx

Dream133 · 05/10/2026 20:17

Has Anyone had a successful outcome for a 18 month old with development delay. He’s globally delayed and has low muscle tone. Unable to walk crawl no weight bearing . Doesn’t point clap wave talk etc. thinking he will get declined due to his age. I rung for forms in July so he was actually only around 15 months when applying X

Md234 · 05/10/2026 20:49

@Dream133 my little boys 2 and I’ve had a lot of people tell me he will get declined simply on his age!! It’s disgusting in my opinion. Im still waiting to hear from my new claim scan date 28/7 but I wish you all the luck in the world!xx

Dream133 · 05/10/2026 21:04

@Md234 thats what I’ve heard too 🫣 but even only being 18 month old he does simply require more care than a average 18 month old. I’m also unable to go back to work as we do a lot of physio at home aswell as weekly in clinic and he’s so distressed in other environments. They received my forms on 4th August so probs got a while to go yet before I hear! Thank you! Good luck to you too xx

Hi sorry for jumping on your post I just wanted to try offer some comfort and reassurance. I felt the same as my little boy is only 2 as well but he was awarded HRC for 2 years. So it's absolutely possible that your little boy can be awarded it as well. My scan date was 20th July and a descion was made 22nd September good luck and finger crossed for your family 🥰

Dream133 · 05/10/2026 21:33

Hi, my daughter is 2 and awarded Mrc. When I started the claim she was 2 years 3 months old. I had a fair amount of evidence but ultimately she was awarded. Ignore other people’s onions x

Mummyof2under4 · 05/10/2026 22:08

Opinions ** LOL🤣

Md234 · 05/10/2026 22:19

Thankyou everyone it’s really reassuring hearing that! I have everything crossed! I know he requires more care than your ‘average’ 2 year old but putting it onto paper is easier said than done isn’t it! I’ve sent as much evidence as I possibly have at the moment just hoping we get the outcome wanted. Fingers crossed for all you still waiting xx
