Hi everyone
I'm getting back on track with SW, determined to lose at least a stone that I have been hanging onto for far too long!

Online shop done, tomorrow's meals planned thanks to the SW magazine - anyone else in a similar position and want to join?!

My first meeting is not until next Thursday but can't wait another week :)

List 1.5 this week. Needless to say I am done with sp weeks, they clearly don’t work for me so back to having carbs this next week. We are away for my next weigh in so I’m hoping to find a group near to where we will be. If I don’t go for two weeks I will go way off plan, have no discipline at all without the weekly weigh in.

Everythingmagnolia · 08/02/2019 07:56

I am the same. I struggle when there is no weigh in. Ours is closed this week due to half term.

mynameisMrG · 08/02/2019 09:51

Oh that’s annoying! Is it only on during term time then?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 08/02/2019 21:40

Sorry can I interrupt and ask if anyone knows...

Do you HAVE to take food to the food tasting weeks? I just don’t want to Sad

Everythingmagnolia · 08/02/2019 22:38

@myname is Not normally but it's closed this week as she is away and can't get cover as our class is abroad so consultants are.few.and far between

@george not if you don't want to I wouldn't have thought. I don't stay for class when we are asked to bring food because I don't want to eat food when I don't know where it has been prepared etc

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 08/02/2019 22:57

Thank you

mynameisMrG · 10/02/2019 14:03

I went so off plan yesterday 🤦🏻‍♀️ Ran out of Nicotine gum so turned to chocolate instead. Back on it today as I’m determined to shift this weight this time! How is everyone’s week going? I find weekends the hardest as there’s less of a routine

sazzle27 · 10/02/2019 21:34

Yotally off plan.
Weekend binge.
All starts again tomorrow!
Back on plan..

Everythingmagnolia · 12/02/2019 07:41

Struggling a little also. It's half term where I live so I am off work with the DC. Scoffed a big mac meal on Sunday so I am trying to be good, but the DC want to bake and the weather hasn't been great, I am looking forward to being back in a routine!

mynameisMrG · 14/02/2019 23:20

Managed to find a group this week near to where we are staying. Lost 1.5lbs which I’m pleased with as it gets me over that first stone mark. How has everyone done this week?

mynameisMrG · 21/02/2019 22:34

I maintained this week which was a relief as we have been away and didn’t really stick to plan. How’s everyone else doing?

Everythingmagnolia · 22/02/2019 07:42

I gained half a pound, not too bothered as we ate out a few times

Lynmorag · 24/02/2019 17:01

Hi.. Im new to slimming world and really don't kno if I'm doing right or wrong. Desperately need to lose at least a stone by May 24th as getting married, I'm currently 12st 9. I'm tryin to just eat protein and veg and also fruit, maybe with potatoes every other day. Tryin not to eat any syns. Is this good or bad as I hear people say u must eat ur syns? Also can u eat too much protein? I just want to have the best possible result by end of April.. Any tips wud be hugely appreciated x

mynameisMrG · 24/02/2019 23:17

Hi @lynmorag. I would say to eat at least five syns a day minimum as they don’t recommend you cut out completely. I also find I don’t lose as much weight when I cut the carbs out so I make sure I am still having pasta and rice etc. Are you having your healthy a and b choices? A stone by maybis definitely doable if you follow the plan. I have lost 15lbs in six weeks though I have a bit more to lose than you

Losingthewill8 · 27/02/2019 12:27

You are all doing so well! It's disheartening when the scales don't go in the direction we hope for.

Just having got back from holiday I put on9lb! Over 3 weeks, lots of good food and wine and very little exercise! I won't be doing that again.

I'm back on the wagon, and can't believe that I am asking this question, but I definitely need it confirmed, or to see what you guys do.

With the whole one third of your plate speed, I get that; it's the other 2 thirds that I can't always get my head around. For example I might have a chicken salad for lunch, but that's then obviously half and half, as I don't have rice or pasta, because I don't want it, but what if I then have pasta for lunch, say with a tomato based sauce or leeks etc., I am again having half and half rather than a third, a third, a third.

Or even more complicated; if I have the chicken salad for lunch and then the pasta with speed for dinner, no protein, what about that?

Does this still work?

Thanking you in advance for your wise words!

mynameisMrG · 27/02/2019 23:40

Hi @losing a three week holiday sounds amazing right now!
Half and half is fine, that’s leaning more into sp but it’s fine. I think the rule is at least a third is speed. I would try and have some protein with lunch and dinner if you can as it keeps you fuller for longer and you’re less likely to snack or over eat. I don’t believe it says you have to have protein or three thirds for every meal, but you are more likely to succeed if you do. That’s how I understand it 😊hope that helps

Losingthewill8 · 28/02/2019 08:30

Ok, thank you. But it shouldn’t affect losses?

rainbowkids · 28/02/2019 10:45

Sorry to jump into this thread. Please could anyone tell me the syns in Whitworth semolina made with blue lid milk and no sugar?

mynameisMrG · 28/02/2019 17:23

It shouldn’t do @losing

mynameisMrG · 28/02/2019 17:25

From what I can find out it’s 2 syns for 28g as long as your milk comes from your healthy extra @rainbowkids

rainbowkids · 28/02/2019 18:09

Thank you

Everythingmagnolia · 09/03/2019 06:52

Thread seems to have gone quiet, how is everyone getting on?

Myusernameismud · 09/03/2019 07:02

Morning all, I'm planning on going back to SW next week so hopped on here for a bit of support. I joined a few years ago and lost half a stone in a few weeks, but the group was just awful and I lost all enthusiasm. Then I was hospitalised and out on a huge dose of steroids (still on a low dose) which, anyone who's been on steroids knows, makes you eat everything in sight. So I got really really fat. I'm the heaviest I've ever been at 32 and I'm just fed up of it now. I really struggle with exercise as my asthma is so poorly controlled still, so I'm hoping to lose a stone first and get my symptoms under control and then really go for it. I've got a bike and planning to go for a daily cycle. It's been so long since I last went to SW I've forgotten what to buy, so having a quick look on Pinterest for suggested SW shopping lists.

Hope everyone is doing well! My DSis lost 3 stone last year, although she put most of it back on so she's going back too. We'll be each others RL support!

Myusernameismud · 09/03/2019 07:03

That's age 32 BTW, not 32 stone Blush I think I'm 15 stone, although I'm too scared to get on the scales right now....

mynameisMrG · 09/03/2019 21:14

Welcome @myusernameismud I agree having a good group is key. Good luck, you can do this.
I lost 1lb this week. 1stone 2lb so far. Two stone 12lb to go
