Starting 2019 with SW

Hi everyone
I'm getting back on track with SW, determined to lose at least a stone that I have been hanging onto for far too long!

Online shop done, tomorrow's meals planned thanks to the SW magazine - anyone else in a similar position and want to join?!

My first meeting is not until next Thursday but can't wait another week :)

Hi everyone hoping to join you. I signed up last week, pretty shocked with the starting number (confirmed that my home scales are a complete chocolate tea pot, yet I still seem to stand on them daily!) I ate very well last week and didn’t find it too difficult as I work a two week shift pattern, one being very busy long hours and the other only a few shifts. I found it much easier to plan my meals and combined with a 16:8 window of eating as well. I lost 8lbs at weigh in on Thursday, really pleased but fully aware that a lot is water weight etc and now the real test is going to be this 2nd weigh in.

Yesterday was the first time that the demons in my head started niggling, that mental craving for ‘bad’ foods over a craving of hunger. This is the aspect I need to overcome, I nearly caved and picked up an iced ring doughnut, but decided If I was going to have it I’d really really enjoy it and chew each mouthful. I took two bites and thought ‘this isn’t amazing, Im not hungry.’ And put it in the bin. It was such a big step for me, doughnuts are my weakness and I can easily have 3/4 in a sitting without being aware that I’ve done it. How is everyone else doing with the mental demons we have?

Need to lose 4 stone, want to lose 5 stone, would love to lose 6 stone.

Some amazing first week losses this week. I did a beef stew for dinner tonight that was slow cooked for a good few hours. I was so engrossed I forgot to eat lunch. That is a big habit I have to break. I often work through lunch then I’m ravenous by three and over eat junk just to satisfy me

agteacht · 14/01/2019 07:39

Well done on some amazing losses. I am still really struggling to see any movement on the scales. I have been sticking to plan though did have a night out Saturday. I went to bootcamp three times last week so for now having to assume my body is in some sort of shock mode and not letting go of the weight yet!!!! If it helps me to believe eh 😂

Today I have planned oats for breakfast, soup lunch and vegan lasagne for tea, with fruit as snacks. Hope you all have a good day

agteacht you're probably right - 3 bootcamps in a week is a lot. You're probably holding on to some water. Keep at it. Trust the plan and the results will come.

Says she confidently Wink

Weigh in for me tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I've been ok over the weekend.. no alcohol and not many carbs, was a quiet weekend so hopefully I'll see some results 🤞

Atetoomanymincepies · 16/01/2019 18:45

Just weighed in and lost another 2.5lb. That's 9 in total for me. I have a target of 2 stone for Easter. I think doing dry January is working in my favour too.

How is everyone getting on?

mynameisMrG · 16/01/2019 20:49

Wow brilliant! 9lb in two weeks is a really good loss. I’ve been good this week but had a totally rotten day (including driving into the back of someone on my way home today Confused ) and it’s takin all my willpower not to pour out a glass of wine!

agteacht · 16/01/2019 21:33

I hope so @springlenner ! I am going to keep at it. I'm on a 28 day boot camp challenge so have it 3x a week for January. Maybe shouldn't have started SW at the same time!!! But for now will just have to be patient.

Well done @Atetoomanymincepies that is really amazing!

@mynameisMrG I would love a glass of wine!!! Definitely having one or two on Friday!

And @mynameisMrG that is awful about the crash I hope you are okay!!

I’m fine thank you, it was just a little bump. Still caused some damage though which is inconvenient more than anything.

mynameisMrG · 18/01/2019 00:27

Lost 3 at weigh in tonight which I’m pleased about. 8lb in two weeks Smile. Going to try and incorporate some body magic this week as I don’t do anything physical at all. How did everyone else get on?

Solostarlight · 18/01/2019 00:50

Hi I have been doing slimming world for just over a year but I have just changed over from being a meat eater to a vegetarian and I would love some help with ideas for meals and lunches that are free or low Syn value thanks if anyone is wondering who I am I’ve recently joined this forum Smile

Solostarlight · 18/01/2019 00:52

Try swimming that is a good exercise to do I’m not so happy this week as I lost 1/2 lb as I tried really hard

mynameisMrG · 18/01/2019 15:29

Yes I do enjoy swimming. I have a two year old so it’s not always easy to find the time but I can certainly get out walking with the buggy a bit more often.
It’s hard when you are disappointed with your results on the scales. Keep going though as it might come off next week Smile

sazzle27 · 19/01/2019 14:04

Weighed in today!
After a terrible first weigh in last Saturday where i put on 0.4kg, I have weighed today and am down 2.5kg!

Got a long way to go but feel like I have actually achieved something this week!

Also.. I am UK, but use kg to weigh myself as i concentrate on the numbers rather than belittling myself over the actual weight - I have no real concept of kg to stone 👍🏻

springlenner · 21/01/2019 16:51

Lots of big losses here! Well Jell!

I've been pretty good all week. Still doing dry January, so hopefully that will have helped. All my meals on plan and mainly using my syns on wine gums/gummy bears!
I've been to body pump once ( nearly died) and went for a long run on Saturday so my steps on my Fitbit are >16,000 every day.
I don't feel like I've lost though, still feel pretty bloated. WI is tomorrow - hoping for 1.5 as that will bring me to my mini-target for January. Anything after that is a bonus :)

Making Chicken Katsu tonight, one of my faves :)

mynameisMrG · 21/01/2019 22:00

Has anyone done an SP week? I’ve heard it can really boost your weight loss so considering it for next week

Atetoomanymincepies · 22/01/2019 14:44

I haven't, it looks too hard Grin

springlenner · 22/01/2019 23:39

Only 0.5 lbs off for me this week. To be honest hard to motivate myself after trying hard ( I know, I should listen to my own advice)

I'm hoping it's caused by ( ahem) "transit" issues due to all the beans and veg...

Atetoomanymincepies · 23/01/2019 21:41

Had weigh in tonight, 1.5lbs off. I am happy with that.

How is everyone getting on?

FerreroRocherAreAmazing · 24/01/2019 11:53

I lost 3.5lb this week. Have been snacking on pickled gherkins. Think this was my secret weapon. This week I have a big event on Saturday so I'm worried it will be my downfall. Well done on all your losses too .

mynameisMrG · 24/01/2019 17:50

Good losses this week. I weigh in at half seven and I'm not optimistic. Feel like I haven't !ost anything this week

springlenner · 24/01/2019 20:31

Good luck MrG I'm sure you will be fine. I've been 100% on it since Tuesday but obsessively weighing every day and seem to be gaining! Oh well, keep going I suppose. Still doing dry January, I expected the weight to be falling off by now!

mynameisMrG · 24/01/2019 21:38

Thank you, lost 1.5 which isn't bad but I'm a bit disappointed as I have a lot to lose. Going to try the sp week this week. It looks very strict but I need a big loss to keep me motivated

amcnickname · 25/01/2019 08:44

Started 13.9 on 7th january, 13.8 on 14th. 13.4 on 25th January. Utterly delighted. Trousers feel looser and not eating a bite after dinner. Cannot waiting to lose next 4 lb. well done ladies keep going :)

Elisha2004 · 26/01/2019 07:31

Hi all
Thought I would join the chat, I restarted SW 3 weeks ago and so far lost 5lb. My weigh days are Saturday and I'm a bit gutted I've not lost todayI've stuck to plan and also use nutra check to count my calories so don't go over too much on free foods.
Any advice please?
