Welcome @TwoAnxiousHearts. I've lost over 5st and now at target. But I still need the support.

Today's trick with another new toy(mini doughnut mould) is bagels.

Hello lovelies. Your mission, should you choose to accept it - help me track down the best SW friendly Gazpacho recipe EVER! I'm really craving it. Any experience/ideas?

raisedbyguineapigs · 30/07/2018 21:11

Hi Boo I've no experience of gazpacho, but isn't it just a cold tomato soup? You could probably just adapt your favourite recipe, syn the olive oil ( if your cooking a big batch, a tsp is only 2 syns) and maybe use wholemeal bread from your hexb if it needs thickening up. I wish I craved Gazpacho rather than a massive slice of lemon meringue pie Grin

Not tried it but I find their recipes very tasty.

I really need to get my head back in the SW game. It's not like I've fallen off the wagon totally but my intake of free/speed food has gone haywire last month or so.

Going to have a massive salad tonight with plenty of protein and try and eat more fruit. Hopefully give myself a bit of a kickstart.

Groovee · 31/07/2018 07:58

I eat a lot of frozen fruit.

Second weigh in tonight. I've been totally on plan (newbie motivation) but don't think results will show. Weigh myself every day too and it tracks to MyFitnessPal which gives weight to a tenth of a lb. It definitely encourages obsession which isn't good! Good luck anyone else weighing in.

Groovee · 31/07/2018 11:15

@TwoAnxiousHearts our consultant challenged everyone to not weigh for a week that admitted they weighed in daily. Out of that, only one gained. One maintain and the rest all lost and big losses over 2lb. Was quite an eye opener. Are your scales the same as SW?

It's weigh and go tonight. Want to see the results of my first week following the new target plan.

Thanks Groovee. I'm going to try that Gazpacho recipe tomorrow along with the bagels you posted. I'll post some pictures.

Cherrypi · 31/07/2018 18:23

Hoping for a good loss this week as I’ve been back on track.

Cherrypi · 31/07/2018 19:26

3lb off. Happy with that. 8lb to go till target.

Groovee · 31/07/2018 19:35

1/2lb off, 1lb below target so still in the bubble

Like the idea of not weighing for a week but would need someone to hide scales on me!
Well, 2nd weigh in - 5 days later because I changed from Thur weigh in to Tues - and I lost 3.5 lbs!! Half stone certificate! Also somehow got Slimmer of Week and Slimmer of Month! I'm under no illusions though - lots in class are still in holiday mode so I didn't have much competition.
Really really chuffed all the same! Renewed motivation.

SunflowerJo08 · 01/08/2018 22:19

Hi, hope you don't mind me joining in! I have lost 12lbs so far with SW and this week, after a horrendous gain last week due to extreme water retention, having to drink shed loads of water due to the heat, all day and then weighing in, this week I lost 5.5lbs!!!

Really chuffed with that; I am following plan and tracking syns but predominantly tracking calories on MFP, which allows for a bit of flexibility in choices when I am out during the summer holidays.

Cherrypi · 02/08/2018 07:36

Well done. I’ve never won slimmer of the week.

raisedbyguineapigs · 02/08/2018 07:38

I never win slimmer of the week either. I never win the raffle either but feel I should do it because at least I have a chance, and I do drink the coffeeGrin

flopsyandjim · 03/08/2018 22:14

hi I'm new. Packed lunch ideas please? Particularly where there is no microwave and lots and lots of cafes / fast food / restaurants nearby to tempt me!!!

raisedbyguineapigs · 04/08/2018 07:41

Hi Flopsy, welcome and good luck! My favourite packed lunches are cold frittata, couscous salad, loads of soups in the winter or my lazy fave, ryvitas with a tin of mackerel or sardines in tomato sauce. I love a café It took me a long time to get my head round just not going in for a quick coffee and getting a snack too!
I stayed the same this week which is fine as I'd been in free fall for a couple of weeks and didn't wi last week. I'm at my mil this week so I'll tell her I'm doing SW. She's quite good at telling me what to do so her stern looks should keep me on the straight and narrow Grin

flopsyandjim · 04/08/2018 08:54

I've been looking at musclefood, joes sausages and skinni range for meats. It's all so expensive! We do like our chicken, beef burgers and steaks...but extra lean versions often taste like cardboard! Any recommendations for cheap and tasty meats!

juneybean · 05/08/2018 22:36

Hi all hope I can join. I'm in my second week with a starting goal of 2 stone. I'm being so good but am so terrified of the scales. Does everyone feel like this!?

Pipsqueak11 · 06/08/2018 00:16

Feeling v Fed up and on the point of giving up , I just don't know what to do to get to grips with SW mentally. I have lost 2.5 stones so all good but have pretty much stayed the same now going up and down for about 4 months , it's so so demotivating I could just cry! So for example, went on hols early July for 2 weeks .stuck to plan as far as pPossible bar the occasional treat , ice cream , booze etc so was not surprised to have gained 3 pounds . Strict on plan since I got back and lost 3 lb to get back to pre holiday weight. Out for the day yesterday with some friends at an all day event and held back massively and managed to regain that 3 lbs in ONE day FFS!!!
I had a salmon salad in the pub whilst everyone one else had burgers and chips (which I really wanted!). Then had bbq jerk chicken rice and coleslaw plus some veggie noodle salad at the festival - later snaffledd about 10 /15 chips off DHs plate. No booze at all and walked about 6 miles. How can I gain 3 lbs in a day? It's not period related as am post menopause. Every other day I run 3.5km. I still have 3st to go to get to target and just feel like giving up:(((
Have had a terrible day today as I sort of can't see how to get going again .ugh!!!

Pipsqueak11 · 06/08/2018 23:34

Sorry i didn't mean to kill the thread with my negative vibes!! Hope everyone else doing ok Smile

Groovee · 07/08/2018 06:52

Sorry @Pipsqueak11 I'm poorly just now.

Do you write everything down? That includes syns. Then maybe if you share here we could help.

I gain easily in the heat though. I've been trying to drink lots of water x
