Well done Cherrypi. It's the one thing I can't do lol. Maintain 😂

0.5lb on tonight, I'm taking that as I think it should've been more tbh Blush

Fresh start tomorrow, upping the speed and plan ahead to stop me just grabbing for quick crappy snacks.

raisedbyguineapigs · 05/07/2018 22:54

Stayed the same tonight. I'm gutted. I did so all week, kept within my syns, drank lots of water. Im at the end of my tether. I don't know what else to do Sad

TantricTwist · 10/07/2018 13:20

Hi Losers Grin hope it's ok to join you at the start of my SW journey.
I've read through your lovely supportive thread.
I'm going to be following the SW plan but not joining a group or um weighing myself at this point in time. I just can't bring myself to do that at the moment. I'm 5'5 and a size 16/18.
I may however start weighing myself in a months time once I'm back from holiday where I will have done lots of swimming everyday.
Last time I did the SW plan it was green and red days so I'm happy with the changes.
Today so far
B - 35g bran flakes with milk, coffee sweetener dash of milk
L - 2 slices wholegrain bread wi lettuce, tomato, cress, mustard and ham
D - will be a baked potato (I bought half a sack from a farmers shop) cooked in my slow cooker. Corn on the cob and baked beans or a bit of philadelphia light. Maybe a slice of ham.
My ultimate aim is to fit into a size 14 and eventually even a size 12 which would be brilliant.

raisedbyguineapigs · 10/07/2018 14:00

Hi Tantric Admittedly, Im crap at this, so probably the last person who should be giving you advice on this thread Grin but I would say you need to add a bit of speed to your breakfast and dinner. For example, a chopped pear on the branflakes or a handful of strawberries and a side salad or green veg with your jacket potato. Corn om the cob is not speed. I would advise going to the introductory session or trying to get the book from ebay so that you know what the speed foods are. You should have 1/3 of a plate of speed food at every meal. They are basically all fruit except bananas, tropical fruit and grapes and some others that are sugary and all non root veg apart from sweetcorn ( I think)

TantricTwist · 10/07/2018 14:52

Thanks raised I do have a list of speed foods I copied from online somewhere, I should ahve a proper read of them.

I did forget about sweetcorn being a carby veg from my previous SW meetings years ago, but they looked so nice in the farm shop. I will just have half of one then and add to my syns.
I think I might have had a pear actually this morning I tend to snack on braeburn apples and pears cold from the the fridge.

I love having a plan and lists to follow at the moment it's really helping me a lot actually with what I'm eating. I totally lost my way a bit, I feel more in control which is great.

Eating pasta once in a while be great at curbing hunger as well as being able to include rice and potatoes.

Can anyone recommend a good syn free salad dressing as my current concoction of balsamic vinegar and soya sauce is not quite cutting it now I'm excluding a tbls oil or mayo and a pinch of sugar.

TantricTwist · 10/07/2018 15:02

Took your advice and just snacked on an apple and 5 strawberries.

raisedbyguineapigs · 10/07/2018 15:09

Glad it was of help 😀 you don't need to syn the corn. It's free just not speed. I have trouble with salad dressing too. I would just add it to your syns. Sometimes I use a proper spray olive oil (not fry light) and spray it on.

Groovee · 10/07/2018 16:20

There's a fat free vinegarette which is free but don't ask me which one 😂 I'm on holiday do not at home.

It's also 45g of bran flakes for a healthy extra. So give yourself that extra 10g.

You also only get one B choice these days so you would have to syn either the bran flakes or your bread. I did Red/Green days years ago too and am a target member now.

Having a fab holiday. Just spent a fab day with my bestie. She found this place that brings meats to your table and carve them and has a huge salad bar. It was fab. Really enjoyed it. Going to make toasties for tea later on! We're close to the beach and I'm managing lots of walks here.

TantricTwist · 10/07/2018 19:01

Thanks Groovee your holiday sounds lovely esp that restaurant Smile Btw your before and after photos were very inspiring.

I'll have to rethink my breakfast then or just syn.

I've bought 0% plain Fage yogurts which I think are 0 syns so will add a teaspoon of honey to it when I have a sweet tooth which is only 1 syn.

Cherrypi · 10/07/2018 22:24

1.5lb on this week oops. My biggest ever gain. I know where it came from though.

sar302 · 11/07/2018 11:43

I'm just heading in to town and will be grabbing lunch at Leon. My previous favourite option is about 28 syns 😭 was thinking of having the chargrilled chicken pot (1 syn) and some baked fries? But can't see syns for fries on the app - does anyone know?! Also the garlic sauce? Or is the answer just.... no....

(I used to have the meatball lunch box with extra halloumi and two pots of garlic sauce twice a week when I was working. No wonder I'm faaaaaaaat 🙈)

sar302 · 12/07/2018 08:44

I went for it anyway and enjoyed! Food sheet turned in with a question mark...

1lb down this week, so 8.5lb so far in three weeks.

TantricTwist · 12/07/2018 14:33

I rethought my lunch instead of my breakfast as I do like to start my day with branflakes.

For lunch I had lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, spring onion and about 8 prawns with a dressing of soya sauce and balsamic vinegar. Next time I will add a tablespoon or less of hoummus.

I feel happy to have skipped the bread but I do love a ham salad sandwich so I'll just have to have them less often and syn.

I have to be fairly strict as I am losing weight not maintaining.

I have got my hands on a proper SW syns book which helps a lot and I've got a SW starter pack from ebay to read.

I've already prepared some potatoes wedges for SW chips later on.

I think from reading up on SW you do need to prepare a little bit otherwise you just grab the first thing that comes to hand when hunger hits Grin at least I do anyway Blush

Groovee · 15/07/2018 07:01

I'm 100% back on plan. Weigh in Tuesday. We can see what the damage is.

Yesterday I ended the day on 9 syns. I've been having probably between 60-80 a day on holiday 😳

Help!
I need to get back on the Slimming World wagon. I've been a target member for three months, but I'm starting to gain again as I've gradually moved away from plan. I want to start again properly. Plus DP has been off plan for ages (he has never been to meetings, but he lost a lot with me because I am in charge of cooking) and I want to drag him back in. But I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the idea of starting again. There's butter and beer in the fridge... We're moving house next week... Help me get motivated please...

Groovee · 16/07/2018 14:38

I'd sit down with the books and read them again then plan as much as you can. Think about what is easy to make or pick up while moving, such as a subway salad or a roast chicken from the hot counter with salad.

OP posts:
raisedbyguineapigs · 16/07/2018 23:37

Have you kept going to group coral? We have a few target who come every week. They said it was what kept them on target. o
My cholesterol levels are a bit above normal apparently. They were really high but have come down a lot since I started SW. I read that olive oil used to be a hex b. I was considering using it for cooking top try and get my good fats up even though it's no longer on the list. Does anyone know if it's true/ reason it was taken off? The nurse was very casual about it as it was coming down but I'm still nervous and would like it to be in the normal range.

CoralFish · 17/07/2018 10:02

No, I moved house and there isn't a group at a convenient time for me Sad I've signed up online, which is a bit annoying, because I have to pay, even though I'm a target member.

I think the olive oil thing was about the move to focusing on fibre. If you think you need it, maybe try replacing some HexBs (or even HexAs) with it but not every day, because then you won't get enough fibre (or calcium). See how it affects your weight. Or have it as syns but I assume you don't want to do that!

CoralFish · 17/07/2018 11:14

Right, so I didn't think I'd been too bad yesterday, but I decided to fill in my online food planner and it turns out I had 32 syns!! Shock

I have had a snack pack of buttered malt loaf for breakfast today, but if try not to have any more syns today I feel like I'm back on track...

raisedbyguineapigs · 17/07/2018 16:54

I'd always been a bit crap counting syns when I'd gone off track. I started doing it a few weeks ago and If had 100 syns v in one weekend Shock I think I'll just use spray olive oil and syn it. I read the stuff they gave me and if I up my oily fish and change to wholegrain rice and pasta that should do it. That's annoying you have to pay for online! It's the same price as group isn't it? I wonder if that's too encourage people to go to group?

Groovee · 17/07/2018 18:41

Whoops 5lb on...

Got my new target members book.

OP posts:
Cherrypi · 17/07/2018 21:50

Has a lot changed groovee? 1lb off this week which is probably more than I deserve. I’m really starting to understand what my triggers are. I need easy yummy stuff made for when I’m feeling lazy. Also I need to eat bigger meals else I end up in a snacking spiral.

Groovee · 18/07/2018 07:53

The previous book was just waffle. This one actually gives you an idea of what to do to maintain and is a 12 week journal. I feel so much more positive with it.

OP posts:
eeyoredebbie · 18/07/2018 17:43

-not so- patiently waiting for my target booklet at weekend Grin
