A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

Ah right!

Mine tasted of nothing but I mixed it with curry sauce so it was fine.

emwithme · 18/01/2016 21:12

I cooked cauliflower rice - the premade stuff from Asda - - once, to have with a piece of sea bream that I fried on a night DH was out.

He came in three hours later and asked what the fuck I'd been cooking because the flat smelled like his school canteen. I had had the windows in the kitchen open that whole time, done the washing up, emptied the bin, and burned a chef's candle and NOTHING had removed the smell!

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, omelette, beans, mushrooms, tomato. Tassimo cappuccino (2 syns)
Snack: Yoghurt, satsumas, apple. Costa sugar free vanilla latte (HEA)
Dinner: Meatballs (5 syns) and pasta in tomato sauce. Satsumas.
Snack: Hifi bars (HEB)

I am being stupid efficient.

I have decided I want an SP day tomorrow so I have egg muffins in the oven now so they'll be cold when I want them to pick on.

cowboylover · 18/01/2016 23:34

Hello all catching back up after the weekend and think I have followed all the Instagram people mentioned if not I will start using the new #mumsnetsw

Highlight of the weekend food wise where the curries I made for my mates birthday beers while we watched the boxing at mine so added a picture.

I am doing well for dry January and not tempted yet but couldn't find the word for no when I went out on my bike yesterday and had roast beef followed by apple pie and custard but it was yummy so keeping on plan as much as possible for a result Thursday evening I hope.

Going to Miller and Carter tomorrow, any recommendations?

Me too Em . Just made omelette to take out for lunch on the run tomorrow. Will do a roast chicken and veg for dinner. Can't decide whether to get some overnight oats ready, find it hard planning breakfast, fussy eater first thing in the morning lol!

WineAndIntrigue · 18/01/2016 23:52

I very much need to go to bed!! But checking in with today's food diary before I do:

B - Muller Light, peppermint tea

D - 1 wholemeal Kingsmill Thin (HexB) topped w/ chicken & sweetcorn (1syn for Lighter than Light mayo), potato wedges, cherry tomatoes and HexA 3x Babybel Lights
Snacks - 2x apples

Have followed everyone I can find on Instagram! I'm abbieslimmingworld (catchy eh?) Will start using the hashtag tomorrow Smile

annatha · 19/01/2016 00:25

Right, I've bought quark. What the hell do I do with it?

tabulahrasa · 19/01/2016 00:50

Quark...mix options through it for chocolatey creamy stuff, stick garlic in it for dip type stuff, it's good in carbonara and I like it in mashed potatoes instead of milk and butter.

You can stick sweetener and vanilla in it as well.

It's nicer than yoghurt mixed in a tomato based curry.

Um, oh I've used it in a pasta bake, that worked ok.

I was off plan for a night out yesterday...and I've had no real meals today Sad not on purpose though, just busy so I grazed instead, it's all been SP stuff though, so I'm considering it as on plan.

annatha · 19/01/2016 05:09

Sounds great, thanks!

cowboylover · 19/01/2016 07:18

I find quark is useful and in a lot of SW recipes but it doesn't warm up very well if you you like to have leftovers the next day.

calzone · 19/01/2016 07:25

I mix sweetener and vanilla essence into it to make a sweetened cream for desserts.

OP posts:
wowser3 · 19/01/2016 08:37

Mmmm I love quark , I use it as I would a mayo.
Just in to bed. My Monday night eating was very borin.
B = nil, was rushing
L = mugshot , Muller and blueberries
D = ham, HE B bread, carrot batons & tomatos
HE A milk in brews

BendydickCuminsnatch · 19/01/2016 08:58

Is cooked fruit only not free because they assume you add sugar to it? Just had banana pancakes with berries which would be free if I'd used fresh berries. Instead I used frozen berries and put them in a saucepan with a drop of water to heat them up Confused

tabulahrasa · 19/01/2016 09:16

They're not free because cooking changes the consistency and so they're no longer as filling, but still have the same calories.

But honestly, if you were just defrosting them, I'd forget about it.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 19/01/2016 09:18

Ok thanks Smile I see. I'll choose the 'forget about it' option! Grin

maygirl · 19/01/2016 09:18

Cooked and juiced fruit is synned because you can easily eat several portions of it compared to whole fresh fruit. Its less satiating.

EmilyK83 · 19/01/2016 10:02

Weigh in done...another 3lb off! That's half a stone in 2 weeks! 😃

wowser3 · 19/01/2016 10:08

Well done EmilyK ^
