The new Mumsnet

So here it is, what you've all been waiting for (or dreading)... The new look Mumsnet; still no tickers, but lots of fabulous new content and a splendid new look (right?).

Don't forget that to get the best of the new look talk you need to click the Customize link at the top of Talk and change colour scheme to "Mumsnet New".

We're well aware of various minor glitches that we will fix over the next day or two. There are a few duff links around and a few pages that still need updating. But all the big stuff works so dive in and feel free to comment on the problems you find.

Right that's it I'm off to bed for a couple of hours, knock yourselves out.

I really, really like it.

I'm finding threads i'm on a bit scary too. I usually check on there to see whether anyone has had a go at me/ successfully countered my argument since I was on last. I will actually have to click on the thread now, which is way scarier...

I can't believe you actually paid a designer to create this new layout, it looks disasterous, so hard to read, messy layout.

I hate it, and may well abandon mumsnet because of it, and I LOVE mn

Watusi, yep, completely true. If you have a miscarriage, you get a refund. Because that'll be the FIRST thing you think of if you have a miscarriage, right?!

It's so far removed from what MN's about it's untrue - like a different planet.

For all those complaining, MN looks pretty much the same for me as it ever did when I'm reading threads - so if you have big white borders, etc it's your settings.

Ugggghhh - too much white is giving me a headache!!!

And if I only have a small window open the text won't wrap!

(But thanks for all the hard work Tech and everyone. It is appreciated. No, really.)

how do you get to the mn homepage?

Just realised the text isn't black, it's dark grey. Not very easy to read. I just tried enlarging the text to a size where I can easily read it and now it won't fit across my (large, hi-res) screen without a scroll bar at the bottom

macherie have you got a black and white version or a blue and black and white version? i had a black and white one that looked very wrong, then as if by magic it changed into something that looked as though someone meant it to be that way maybe you've got the glitchy version cos of your os/browser or something?

the one i have now has the issue of visited links being the same colour as active ones but it's just a tiny tweak of the style sheet to fix that, i'm sure it's on its way

All I am interested in is the SPECIAL NEEDS section, I have to scroll through so much just to get to it.

I have gone to into Customize, and chose to change to the standard look, I saved changed, but it still looks the same.

How can I go back the old look please.

aah my style is "sober" maybe the problem was with that. right now it looks exactly the same as classic (hence the visited link thing and why i picked it last time they changed stuff i now remember).

i can just imagine how much work this must be - chin up tech, think how well-earned those beers tonight are gonna feel and thanks.

KashaSarrasin you are having the same problem as me and Piratecat. No idea how to solve it other than making the font extra tiny, which is pointless as then I can't read it!
