So here it is, what you've all been waiting for (or dreading)... The new look Mumsnet; still no tickers, but lots of fabulous new content and a splendid new look (right?).

Don't forget that to get the best of the new look talk you need to click the Customize link at the top of Talk and change colour scheme to "Mumsnet New".

We're well aware of various minor glitches that we will fix over the next day or two. There are a few duff links around and a few pages that still need updating. But all the big stuff works so dive in and feel free to comment on the problems you find.

Right that's it I'm off to bed for a couple of hours, knock yourselves out.

Oy! What happened to the just choose classic and nothing will change promise? I did the customize thing (thanks slur, I couldn't figure out how to do that ). And it's still all weird and new and nasty. I can't cope

I have the bars in pale purple/blue, but the pages have changed. I really really dislike it. Might stop visiting. I know that's sad (of/for me that is).

I have come back to say thank you to Tech because,m much as I dislike the new fangled mumsnet business, I realise it must have been quite hard work and it pisses me off when I spend ages doing something only for everyone to complain about it. So, thank you Tech.

Very true. My dh is a programmer and I work in an IT department. I know these things take weeks and months. But I don't like it at all!

I'm not convinced about the pale blueness and smallness and I quite liked the way it looked before, tbh.

And we STILL have no new smileys. Nor is Chat in the shortcut links below!

there seems to be an awful lot of white space around the edges, which frankly I find quite unnerving; almost as unnerving as the text shifting in the message box when I get to the end of a line sometimes!! And then I get double letters at the beginning of the line cos I have gone back to type it properly, cos it looks like the first letter has gone missing! Nuts.

And I quite liked that when I had clicked on a post in "Threads I'm On" it changed colour, so I knew whose post I had last read; now it doesn't happen.

Oh yes, Thumbwitch, that is no good.

Why is the moon thingy wrong? It says it is a full moon but we have only just had a new moon.

Has tech done a runner? I do think he should have stayed up to fix all these 'glitches'. Because that is what they are, aren't they? Just temporary glitches? Right?

Even having changed back to MN muted colour scheme, I still can't get posts I have clicked on to change colour

Am really going to bed now. Ridiculous hour to be awake!

Why are thread titles cut off? It's such a pain to only see part of it, then click on it thinking it might be important only to find it is something totally irrelevant. There's no point being able to have longer thread titles if they aren't visible in active conversations.

Mmmmm I don't mind it (having laways switched back to classic on previous changes) however I do find it a bit scrunched up
