The new Mumsnet

So here it is, what you've all been waiting for (or dreading)... The new look Mumsnet; still no tickers, but lots of fabulous new content and a splendid new look (right?).

Don't forget that to get the best of the new look talk you need to click the Customize link at the top of Talk and change colour scheme to "Mumsnet New".

We're well aware of various minor glitches that we will fix over the next day or two. There are a few duff links around and a few pages that still need updating. But all the big stuff works so dive in and feel free to comment on the problems you find.

Right that's it I'm off to bed for a couple of hours, knock yourselves out.

Now please fix Mumsnet Classic so that I can pretend it never happened.

It would be nice if we could customise the 'poular forums' shortcut list. In fact if we could hide the shortcuts section.

I do like the way you can read all the lowercase bits of peoples names now

And I need the colour to change if i have already clicked on a title on a/c please! Gawd it's like the new ebay a few months ago - I was a regular user before that and now I never use it, let that be a warning...

There is an add message link at the top of the page.
Not only that, there's also now one on every post...

It is like the last time it changed, but even more bewildering

Mostly I like it, except for the ads that take up half the screen at the top. They were much less in the way on the side!

Threads i'm on is really hard to read for some reason.

Not enough space/distinction between titles and messages I think.

I want whole titles!

Weird. That "Threads I'm On" bug has gone... are you just exceptionally keen and up fixing things already?

is that because I have adaware downloaded? or pop up blocker? or something?

Ooops. No, it hasn't gone. But "Active Conversations" and "Threads I'm On" look very similar now...

I've updated my browser and my ads are still at the top pushing everything down.
My pages just look, kind of empty. Too much blank white space and everything squashed into a little bit in the middle. Is weird and V hard to read.

please can we have the terminology

'recent threads ' instead of 'last 15 mins' again?

Can i please have my underlined thread headings back. As i don't think there is an option to do this, only a basic 'classic mumsnet 'option' It is very hard to read/see the thread headings properly.

I did "mumsnet classic" and not a lot of it is working, however, when I go to active convos the font is really small and I struggle to read it, and the layout of that is still new style.
And why is Caht not in the popualr forums links (which incidentally I thought would have disappeared when I changed to MN classic but nothing much has changed)

Are you on new Mumsnet colours whoever you are (sorry I can't see your name because posters names are too small on my iPhone) I have add message on the right of every blue bar, next to report post (and incidentally bigger & bolder than the poster's name).

Morning all - there is a problem at the moment if your Customise options are set to Mumsnet Muted - We'll fix it soonest. In the meantime try selecting New Mumsnet on the Customise page and it will get rid of the white space.

It's FAR better than the old new mumsnet with all that black but I am too comfy with the old old mumsnet to really appreciate it!

I'm not very comfortable with it, because I HATE change. It doesn't FEEL like mumsnet, iyswim. I feel a bit squirmy

But. I am not going to set myself to classic, I am going to get used to it.

One thing I coudn't find, was LOG IN. I had to click on Threads I'm On to get to the login screen (via you must be signed in to view blah blah blah)

Is it not there, or did I just miss it?

Well my setting are on mumsnet classic and I've got all the white stuff...will try mumsnet new, you've twisted my arm

However, WHAT is going on with 'threads i'm watching'? My list has gone, so I've gone through, found them all, added them, navigated away (how Very Dare I) and the buggers have all gone, so, patiently, dutifully, I've added them again......and they've gone again!!! GRRRRR

the first letter gets hidden off-box
so I think I have not typed it and add an extra one

sometimes I really have not typed it and it looks Ok
but mostly it has two first letters when posted.
