I've found a better option for me instead of incognito.

When I get the 400 message, the three dots, top right, allow me to select the option of using Samsung Internet ( just for MN) which is working.

Thank goodness, or I'd have given up.

As a pp said, how can you not have the ability to test on an android phone?

Linksrechtsgeradeaus · 12/05/2026 08:12

I got a few days on Edge without a problem then the 400 message returned. I've cleared the cache several times, switched off the laptop etc. Private viewing works.
I would blame my laptop if I was the only one with the problem but clearly I'm not.

RedToothBrush · 12/05/2026 08:40

I'm having the problem on both my laptop and phone.

They have different browsers.

The lack of testing is embarrassing.

purpleme12 · 12/05/2026 08:47

Yep I had the problem on my laptop yesterday and that's a different browser to on my phone

limetrees32 · 12/05/2026 09:01

I don't know if my understanding is correct but ...it's a cache problem .The cache is locally stored details from a site .We have to get rid of the flawed details stored in our cache to prevent errors which stop a site loading.
But the details that are stored originate from the site, MN in this case.
So why does the MN site have these flaws?
A one off glitch feels acceptable but from posts on this thread it seems that glitches captured in people's caches have occurred on several different days and times.
So not a one off mishap.

And if MN have fixed it, why does the problem reoccur after people have cleared their cache multiple times?

BlackCatsAreBrilliant · 12/05/2026 09:41

I've had this today, twice.

Chrome on a phone.

Both times, I then deleted the last 15 minutes of browsing history and that worked.

I'll probably regret saying that, as it probably means it won't work next time.

Nitgel · 12/05/2026 09:45

I get 400 bad request on Chrome since last night. Can open on Samsung browser

Songlines · 12/05/2026 09:46

Getting this message on my Android phone but not on my laptop. All to the good because it'll keep me off MN, too much hassle unless I'm on my laptop anyway, which I am at the moment :-0

Gettingbysomehow · 12/05/2026 10:05

Im going to take my phone to the phone shop.

VividDeer · 12/05/2026 10:21

Mumsnet seem very poor in their response to this.
There is no way to clear cache from one site on chrome

I'm not clearing my data from 472 other sites just because MNHQ can't fix it. I guess my time on Mumsnet is suddenly managed

Cafog · 12/05/2026 11:31

Worked for me initially when I followed yhe instructions. Its happened again snd clearing cache doesnt work this time. Chrome browser. Very annoying. On the app but hate it

Seeline · 12/05/2026 09:25

Yep, same here. Repeatedly cleared. Works for 1 load of the page. 400 error if refreshed or try to load a other page.

BillieWiper · 12/05/2026 11:59

It works if you go incognito.

BeckyAMumsnet · 12/05/2026 13:09

Hi all. We would really appreciate the chance to speak directly with a few users who are experiencing the problem again after clearing their cache, so we can better understand what’s happening.

If you’re willing to jump on a short call with us, please let us know on this thread or contact MNHQ directly at [email protected].

Thank you, as always.

LostTheWill29 · 12/05/2026 13:17

I've had no problems on mumsnet until this morning, repeatedly getting the 400 error code. Since it started this morning, it makes no sense that the problem stems from something that happened last week/before?

Unfortunately can't find a way to clear the cache only for Mumsnet on chrome and not willing to log out of 400 odd sites to use just one, so looks like I'll be visiting Mumsnet less on incognito!

KenAdams · 12/05/2026 14:03

Still experiencing this on the Samsung browser - clearing cache hasn't worked unfortunately.

limetrees32 · 12/05/2026 15:10

Various methods suggested if you Google clearing cache for one site.

Chrome on android

Three dots on search bar
i (info button)
Cookies and site data - clear (just for mumsnet)

Log back in

Let's see if that works for more than a day!

limetrees32 · 12/05/2026 15:51

Weird.i just got the error message (sorry don't know if 400 or 404) .
Used the method in my screenshot above and it worked.

Same!!

Will see how long it lasts 🤞

Linksrechtsgeradeaus · 12/05/2026 16:40

I'm not on Chrome but have just cleared everything yet again and it's worked. Fingers crossed it continues to work! (It only lasted a few days last time)

RNApolymerase · 12/05/2026 18:08

This happened on my laptop last week but today has also started on my phone, four times so far. Clearing last 15 mins of data solves it for a while but a few hours later it happens again

Happytaytos · 12/05/2026 21:00

Been fine all day after clearing my cache yesterday, now just got a 400 error. Back on incognito but tempted to go. It's definitely not a me error at this point. Needing to delete everything all the time isn't normal.

Happytaytos · 12/05/2026 21:02

I keep getting verified by cloud flare too, wonder if the 2 are linked.
