Clearing the cache and history by following the instructions (Firefox for MacOS) seems to have worked, fingers crossed.

Enko · 04/05/2026 21:42

CactusRabbit · 05/05/2026 06:18

Just to add I'm still having this issue this morning despite cache being cleared. Accessing this via the Facebook page and using a link there to access the site.

limetrees32 · 05/05/2026 06:34

I have emailed MN with a link to this thread and also reported
I suppose we're just a handful of posters out of many though

From 10pm last night, 400 bad request.
Chrome, have cleared browser and cache, made no difference, still out this morning.

Working on incognito mode

TheyGrewUp · 05/05/2026 07:00

Me too. Not working on Samsung but is on i-phone. How do younclear the cache.

InflagranteDelicto · 05/05/2026 07:03

I've had this all weekend. Cache & cookies cleared, made no difference.
Meant I had to actually do some housework 😳
Seriously though, the only way I can use mn is incognito on chrome on my mobile - I only use it on my phone.

Beamur · 05/05/2026 08:15

I have tried clearing cookies/cache but couldn't get around the message. On android phone. Only MN affected.
Have downloaded the app and that seems ok for now.

purpleme12 · 05/05/2026 08:26

I hate the app when i had it so i'll just not go on here as much!

likelysuspect · 05/05/2026 08:28

Im on a laptop using Chrome

I thought it was just the odd thread, perhaps been deleted or something, but this morning I couldnt get into the whole site on Chrome so now using Edge but I dont like using Edge, all my other tabs are open on Chrome

Also getting this from my chromebook but not mobile app.

limetrees32 · 05/05/2026 08:46

Below from MN just now
Thanks, we do appreciate it. As you can see you are no longer alone and Tech is on the case. No updates as yet, unfortunately, but the working day has yet to begin in earnest.
Slightly irritated by the " you are no longer alone " as I wasn't alone when I raised the issue yesterday.
Also slightly irritated by an organisation as large as MN rolling out " working day only just begun in earnest"
Surprised they didn't remind me that yesterday was a bank holiday.
Although that might have implied that they're not fully manned at weekends and public holidays.
I expect they'll have finished their coffee soon and will get up from the kitchen table that we know is where MN is run from.

WeMeetInFairIthilien · 05/05/2026 11:52

Still nothing Mumsnet working in Chrome

BeckyAMumsnet · 05/05/2026 13:24

Hi all, huge apologies that this is happening again - we are working to identify the cause. Just checking that those who are still seeing the error message are clearing the cache and not just cookies? If only cookies were cleared, your browser might still be loading an older cached version of the page, so it’s worth making sure cached files have been cleared as well. You can do this for just Mumsnet. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/site_stuff/5522378-update-on-recent-404-errors-and-how-to-clear-your-cache

It's also worth closing your browser after this and relaunching it. Thank you and again - sorry for this.

Update on recent 404 errors and how to clear your cache | Mumsnet

Hello everyone. We’ve now identified what caused the 404 errors some users were seeing late last week and over the weekend. There was a very brief...

Younginside · 05/05/2026 13:40

Hi, yes I'm clearing the cache but no luck. The error message briefly suggested that the header is too big to load, but I only saw that once

Younginside · 05/05/2026 13:43

Currently getting 'error 400 bad request'

dementedpixie · 05/05/2026 13:44

Im getting the 400 error on Samsung Internet. Am posting this on chrome - android phone

I'm the other way round, error message on chrome but Samsung Internet is OK.

WeMeetInFairIthilien · 05/05/2026 13:50

Yes, cleared both cookies and cache.
Restarted phone.
Cleared again.
Still nothing.

Only accessible from Chrome incognito, and thet is taking an age to load. All other websites I use are fine.
