Still getting this. Did the cache clearing thing and made no odds (using Chrome on Google Pixel android phone). Can read/post in incognito though 🥸

DuckDuckDuckGooseDuck · 05/05/2026 15:24

Still getting 400 Bad Request. Chrome browser / Google pixel 9. Sending this from incognito tab. All cookies/cache cleared multiple times over weekend but still no luck. At least I got to read a book instead of mumsnetting!

Below from MN just now
Thanks, we do appreciate it. As you can see you are no longer alone and Tech is on the case. No updates as yet, unfortunately, but the working day has yet to begin in earnest.
Slightly irritated by the " you are no longer alone " as I wasn't alone when I raised the issue yesterday.
Also slightly irritated by an organisation as large as MN rolling out " working day only just begun in earnest"
Surprised they didn't remind me that yesterday was a bank holiday.
Although that might have implied that they're not fully manned at weekends and public holidays.
I expect they'll have finished their coffee soon and will get up from the kitchen table that we know is where MN is run from.

Mmmm yes i can see why you were irritated by it

diddy63 · 05/05/2026 18:52

Just happened to me on laptop with chrome.

Been like that for about half an hour!

diddy63 · 05/05/2026 19:08

Just did the clearing thing & it worked.

ScottBakula · 05/05/2026 20:56

I am getting the same issue , either 400 404 error , its been a issues since yesterday evening on Samsung android , chrome .
I have cleaered cookes and cache sevral times with no change .

HP laptop on chrome is fine

TutTutTutSigh · 05/05/2026 21:00

Oh finally, haven't been able to view mumsnet while logged in since yesterday. Constant error messages, I actually thought I'd been banned - but I only posted a link to some shorts the other day and they weren't that bad 😂

BatshitCrazyWoman · 05/05/2026 21:04

I access MN via Chrome on a Google Pixel phone. Had the 404 message from yesterday night until this afternoon, when I cleared my cache and cookies, and 🤞🏻 it's working for me now.

Slouped · 05/05/2026 21:28

I've cleared cache, data and cookies and mine still isn't working except on incognito mode. Just managed to get onto one page before I got 404 and now just get that every time. Mumsnet is the only site I'm having an issue with.

InflagranteDelicto · 05/05/2026 21:33

Everything was cleared and it still only worked incognito. I use chrome on a pixel.

I'm exactly the same.

DuckDuckDuckGooseDuck · 05/05/2026 21:48

I thought it was back working this evening as the active threads page loaded on a "normal" tab. But as soon I clicked onto a thread, I got 400 bad request. So I'm back in incognito mode again. Very frustrating.

likelysuspect · 05/05/2026 21:48

I have just done the clearing thing, Im on a laptop on Chrome and its worked at the moment. I was having to use Edge earlier until Ive just done this

The site worked on my phone earlier which is android and was on Chrome

Exactly the same here - can open notifications, but no actual threads.

limetrees32 · 06/05/2026 08:45

Mumsnet is practically the only social media I use .
Look at friends Facebook posts sometimes and use a local neighborhood forum
Mumsnet seems to me to have a lot of technical glitches but is this usual on this type of site?
I don't understand why it happens.

Same for me, chrome and pixel phone. Have cleared the cache several times and restarted the browser. Irritating.

patioh · 06/05/2026 09:48

I'm still getting getting a 400 bad request message despite clearing my cache.

I can only access the site in Incognito mode now. I'm using Chrome.

KellyMumsnet · 06/05/2026 09:52

Morning, everyone. Sorry to hear this is still a problem. We're pretty sure this is a browser cache issue, given that several people are reporting that it's working in incognito mode. It's possible that some people's caches aren't being fully cleared somehow.

If you're still getting the error message it's worth closing all your open tabs, before clearing your cache again (not just cookies) and then completely relaunching the browser.

limetrees32 · 06/05/2026 12:45

@KellyMumsnet could you say more about what causes this problem ?
It's never happened on any other site I access.

I can only access it now on my PC not my phone and I've cleared my chaches.

Catsandbooksaremybag · 06/05/2026 13:27

I've cleared my cache many times now, restarting chrome afterwards every time, but the same error appears.

limetrees32 · 06/05/2026 13:41

Well goodness people you must not be completely clearing your caches.
Try harder.

I fiddled all day yesterday trying to clear the cache. I use the app on a samsung phone. I eventually did it by going into the samsung browser through the samsung apps which appeared to be the driver for google/chrome. Once I cleared the cache there, all was well.

@limetrees32 I had to try very hard indeed and have three screens on my desk so am hardly technologically incompetent.

Glad to be home :)

Friendlygingercat · 06/05/2026 14:13

Im getting this every couple of days on Firefox desktop so its not just on Chrome.. If I clear the cache for mumsnet it goes away and returns. Yet I have another desktop computer running the same browser and I dont get it there. Annoying. Glad its just not me but obviously a widespread problem. I dont accept its browser related. As PP have said all other sites including illustration rich sites like Pinterest are running fine.
