I can only see lots of posts with an option to load more.

On safari, iPhone 6, customised settings are set to 25 per page.

Hello @EarsUpTailUp thanks for posting - you're seeing this because we are currently testing a new way of scrolling through threads, and would appreciate any feedback you may have. Thanks.

Brefugee · 05/03/2025 12:14

thanks for the heads up. Honestly is it so difficult to have said this in advance? it is bloody infuriating.
but since you asked: I want pages back, as specified in my settings

and i really would love to be able to go back to my last post in a thread (probably you want me to pay for that?)

Brefugee · 05/03/2025 12:15

but general question: is there any kind of MN user forum, or feedback or anything that you consult about before you introduce more ridiculousness?

LuckyLerwick · 05/03/2025 12:28

Well, feedback from me is : thanks, I hate it.
Please bring back the pages, scrolling through endless posts is soul destroying - I want to be able to navigate between the different points of each thread.

Brefugee · 05/03/2025 12:41

also: how long is it going on for?

ExtraDecluttering · 05/03/2025 12:49

Mine is still showing 50 which is how I have it set (mobile site, latest IOS). I just want the option to toggle between a set number and all posts easily to be brought back, I have asked several times since it was taken away and always been told no though.

Brefugee · 05/03/2025 12:53

i do wonder about some social media though.

I barely use facebook because of the infuriating "showing you posts that are 2 weeks old in random order and the sudden refresh so that even if you are writing a reply, BAM! you are no longer where you thought you were."

And i have never found anything approaching a satisfying answer so - barely used. See also Twitter. And so now this site, which is slightly irritating in some ways, which is generally relatively ok to use is FAFFING ABOUT WITH THE USER EXPERIENCE.

So, why? Do people ask for this? or does someone in an office at the towers just think "hmm, how can we stir up the vipers today?"

EarsUpTailUp · 05/03/2025 14:23

Feedback: I hate it. I have far less control of what I see. I don’t know how far to scroll to find a post I want to reread. It’s overwhelming and lacks coherence.

Why allow MNers to customise their experience if you’re then going to experiment with the option I deliberately didn’t choose?

So to sum it up, I really hate it, how soon can we have 25 posts per page back?

OP posts:
Lauren1983 · 05/03/2025 14:38

Yes please can we have proper pages back?

Not liking this at all.

Edited

This is one reason I rarely use the app. It’s much easier to go through pages, not so easy to get lost!

Younginside · 05/03/2025 14:48

Really dislike new layout. Being able to go to different pages in a thread is something I value. Hope you reinstate it

Techno56 · 05/03/2025 14:49

Please put it back. Unusable.

Love having all messages loaded. Remember view all posts being an option back in 2010 maybe? I dislike limited posts per page.

QueenOfThorns · 05/03/2025 19:21

I hate it too, it’s unusable for me as it is Sad

Iwishiwasapolarbear · 05/03/2025 19:26

It’s a nightmare. I went to the married at first site thread which has over 600 posts to catch up on last episodes chat. And I scrolled for what felt like forever and still didn’t get to near the end because then my phone got stressed and refreshed the whole page and I was back at the start again

baroqueandblue · 05/03/2025 20:25

I came on to start a thread about this. Hating it.

If it ain't broke, MN. Of all the things that actually need fixing, you pick this, which doesn't 🤷‍♂️

There’s always been the option to customise and set it as view all posts.

Brefugee · 05/03/2025 20:53

but are you going to fix the current dog's dinner of all the posts all the time?

LadyPene · 05/03/2025 22:07

It's unusable now. If it doesn't change back I might be able to kick my mumsnet habit!

Younginside · 06/03/2025 06:31

Posts from people who haven't read the full thread are often called out. But if you have to scroll endlessly to get to the most recent posts, the tools to do so are not available. What is the point of making a thread more difficult to filter and follow?

UnimaginableWindBird · 06/03/2025 06:51

It makes any sort of longstanding thread pretty much unusable, and would probably be enough to tip me out of my Mumsnet habit. Please change it back.

Same

EarsUpTailUp · 06/03/2025 07:04

Still hating this.
Please change it back to allow MNers to choose their own options.

Teencentral · 06/03/2025 07:06

Got to agree, it's rubbish and makes threads difficult to read.

Togglebullets · 06/03/2025 07:37

Really annoying is my feedback - on a thread with lots of posts I like to skip to the last post to see what's the latest on it. I now can't do that easily.
It's definitely going to lead to even more people posting irrelevant crap without checking for updates or seeing if the thread has moved on.
It's honestly beginning to feel like Mumsnet is actively trying to get rid of us. Which is odd seeing as we make the content.
