Format change

Hi, my format has changed where before it was an old style where I could just see the last few threads but now when I click on what I'm on, it's showing me everything.

When I came on mumsnet today, it forced me to login again and then the format has changed. How can I go back to the original? I'm on an android phone.

And now my Threads I'm Watching has only 18 threads on it. Fair enough, most of the ones that have gone were old, but I still wanted easy access to the info in them.

Same. Especially now the new search function is so shite I will never be able to find all the ones I set aside in my watchlist (which was supposedly all migrated, hahaha, they say).

So now threads I was watching or had started have disappeared. There were a couple I refer back to a lot.

Also I have a red dot saying I have 5 notifications but when I click on it, it says "No notifications".

Bit of a shit show.

why don’t @mnhq actually listen to what the users want before implementing these asinine changes.

I do miss having the new number of replies since last viewed

having total number of replies means unless I was the last to reply I need to click on to see if more replies as I don’t know if I’ve read the last reply

miss advanced search. Mainly for childcare and telly addicts

still miss desktop view

You can turn that off in Settings.

Please remove the OPs first post from the top of every new page of the thread. Having to scroll past it is a pain. I know what I’m reading, I don’t need to be reminded.

I use Advanced Search a heck of a lot. I’m gutted it’s disappeared.

Thanks Havering, I hadn’t. Hmmm. I’ve found the new search function and I’m not convinced it will work as efficiently as the previous one.

Two new issues:

When I tried to log in just now (laptop), I got a 405 error, saying 'method not allowed'. When I clicked the back button, I was logged in.

@HaveringWavering has given a screenshot but the text is completely blurred in the preview of her post. I had open the picture to read it.

The emojis are still badly rendered, too.

Also, the tool bar doesn't float anymore, so you have to scroll right to the top or bottom of the thread to be able to load 'active, I'm on, I'm watching, I started, or Last hour'.

Another issue: The loading screen of a thread is really offputting. I've loaded a thread and I actually can't see any content without scrolling down. The entire page is filled with ads. It makes me just want to shut the site down.

This is a weird one. I always, as a matter of routine, bookmark the place where I’ve got up to, so the thread will reopen at the right place when I come back to it and I can just carry on from that place.

That isn’t happening any more. It’s reopening at a random point, sometimes at one of my own posts from way up the thread, even when I’ve posted more recently. It’s as though it’s got stuck somehow. It doesn’t make any sense 😫

It would look a lot better if the toolbar floated. It would get rid of the huge bare area on the right of the screen when you scroll down.

Still hate it. I've read a lot less MN as a result and when I have I've got bored quickly and couldn't be bothered to read whole threads. 🥺

I can't easily scroll back to read, or find where I last bookmarked (ahem) so apologies if this is repeating other people:
Quite apart from the bloody tedious "must have punctuation to put a return in" (although not true if you are typing between emojis, I find 🤷🏼‍♀️), I'm now finding if I type a certain amount I suddenly get a big black screen that says "oops! You don't have access to MN" and I can't do anything from there other than back out and lose the post, or post it as it. What the hell is going on?

There is a lot more scrolling now, and I always end up in the wrong part of a thread and the text is so annoyingly small and why there is a half of the page left empty but the thread is squished on the right?

Is a lot more user unfriendly than it used to be.
