Seasons greetings one and all

We're happy to announce our new Talk App for Android is now ready to go and available for download from the Google Play store, just in time for Christmas too.

As this is our first crack at the Android version, we will be adding more features and updates as we go along. At this stage we'd really appreciate your feedback (good and bad...) about using the app and if it's working for you. Let us know how you get on.

Many thanks to all of our testers. Please delete the test app and download this one instead.

I got the weird error message (valley thing) too when trying to log in. now that I've logged on successfully, it's just so slow it's practically unusable. I think it's been released too soon, tbh, judging by the problems others are reporting.

Has it actually been fully tested on a wide range of android devices? or just the newest phones and tablets?

hmmm can't see my own posts and keep getting error messages instead of seeing posts when I open thread - sometimes posts appear when I drag screen down? love it though!!!!!

I give up. Keep getting errors and pages are taking up to 30 seconds to load. I e gone back to the mobile website. Here's the main error I'm getting now

Was working to an extent yesterday. Although, wouldn't let me login. Definitely right password. Now, I'm just seeing purple background. No threads.

I'm uninstalling.

I tested the app and had none of the problems having now- can't see full threads, keep posting twice when only click send once. Going back to mobile site for now...

Thanks for your feedback- bear with us, we are alerting tech to the issues and will hopefully have some answers for you soon.

Thanks everyone for your feedback so far - we're working to resolve some of the issues and will be releasing an update of the app with bug fixes in 2 weeks' time.

Some features - for example, bookmarking and hiding threads - aren't available in the app yet, but we will be adding new features as we go.

In the meantime, here are the answers to some of your 'how to' questions:

To flip a thread, look for the circle button with plus sign at the bottom right of the screen. Click it and select option to flip thread.

To refresh a thread, drag down on a thread feed

To start new thread, go to the top left menu and select option to start a new thread. Add a title, click on topic and wait for topic list to appear. Choose your topic. Write your post then post it by clicking the button on the top right.

It's stopped working! Keep getting 'Talk has stopped' then can either select the report or stop. Select stop and it just bombs out :(

Same here too. Talk has stopped and then the app closes itself.

Yup same here as SSSSM. The app has stopped working altogether.

I've finally managed to login.

It keeps crashing just as I start reading a thread.

A couple of issues: first letter of a sentence not automatically capitalised. multiple posts (6 on one occasion). posts cutting off halfway through, though I see above the might be the "and" symbol.
