Trans people being allowed to compete against women in the Olympics

The Olympics are now allowing men who have taken hormones for 12 months compete against women.

It is NOT transphobic to say that this is grossly unfair and a huge violation of women's rights.

Women who have trained all their lives cannot be expected to compete against people with male bodies and who will be allowed roughly 4 times the normal female testosterone levels.

It's not on. We can't stand for it.

Please get behind this mumsnet. Someone needs to take a stand.

This is ludicrous.

I don't know what sports women can do though. An MMA fighter did try to rally the other women to just refuse to fight Fallon Fox but everyone was afraid of screwing up their rankings with forfeits and being blacklisted.

Didn't Martina Navratilova once play against a man, ranked quite low in the men's games. She was trounced I think.

Nothing against Martina who is probably my favourite sportswoman ever, but just goes to show the disparity between men and woman physically.

It's utterly outrageous that this will happen.

Surfer: Get yourself a new twitter account with a new email address. Go to an internet cafe or the library. Find a 'feminist' twitter feed (everyday feminism should do) and post something along the lines of 'transwomen aren't women and shouldn't be allowed compete in women's sports'. The resulting rape and death threats will tell you exactly why women are afraid to speak out about this.

WEP think it's fine for a rapist to be housed in a women's prison, they won't give a shit about sports women.
