The great emoji debate

Afternoon everyone,

So: emojis. We've had a few questions about these over the last few days. Some of you love them and some of you loathe them. The truth of the matter is that they came into being as a side-effect of a technical fix that we did; we didn't set out to introduce them (and in fact, didn't expect you to discover them quite as quickly as you did Grin). On the question of whether they stay or whether they go, it's really up to you lot. We can get rid of them again; equally, if you like having them, we're happy for them to stay. Over to you ...

Jesus Christ, but this looks awful on a threads list Shock

Can we ban them from titles at least?!

I just hide the threads with emoji in the title as they obviously arent worth reading makes things look much tidier.

YY can tech put getting rid of the emojis at the top of the New Year 'to do' list.

Ta. Smile

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/12/2015 22:19

Yup. Please get rid of the emojis. They keep popping up on threads and they are very discordant. Creepy wee brackets allow far more expressiveness than emojis.

Burn them.

They're not co-ordinated with the ones we have and make the place look common messy.

CoteDAzur · 31/12/2015 11:49

MNHQ - Even Tiggy agrees with the women here. You must know we are 100%, completely, undisputably, correct.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 31/12/2015 13:43

I would like to keep this one though

CoteDAzur · 31/12/2015 14:18

What do you get out of that enormous face that you can't get out if this Hmm ?

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 31/12/2015 14:25

Well, clearly it wouldn't be enormous, I only used that for the benefit of those who don't see them.

It is far more thoughtful than the somewhat harsh expression of Hmm, with a hint of "Chinny reckon" beard stroking. Hmm is nasty.

CoteDAzur · 31/12/2015 14:27

It is what you make of it. A frowning face running its chin doesn't look sweetness and light to me.

CoteDAzur · 31/12/2015 14:27

Rubbing its chin, even.
