Afternoon everyone,

So: emojis. We've had a few questions about these over the last few days. Some of you love them and some of you loathe them. The truth of the matter is that they came into being as a side-effect of a technical fix that we did; we didn't set out to introduce them (and in fact, didn't expect you to discover them quite as quickly as you did Grin). On the question of whether they stay or whether they go, it's really up to you lot. We can get rid of them again; equally, if you like having them, we're happy for them to stay. Over to you ...

No not bored! Was just interested to see if it works or not as sometimes I can see them and sometimes I can't.

I agree they need to disappear, though.

It was someone's nails being painted. I have no idea about the box though. I didn't put that there!

If people don't have iPhones I am sure it all looks very strange indeed!

I do think we should keep to the original smilies then we all know where we stand!

Hi all,

Thank you all for your feedback , much appreciated.

We've had a check with Tech and rolling back is going to take a fair bit of work, so we're going to monitor over the holidays and see how it goes.

If folks are still not happy in the New Year, we will have another look.

I hate them even more now - they are popping up all over the place and really interrupt the flow of reading, and half the time they don't work.
