And costs a small fortune too, that's taxpayers money that is.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/08/2015 21:42

and if it is not illegal already it should beAngry
I mean once malicious intent is proven, I don't mean genuine panic calls or pocket dials

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 21:44

Well I don't care what anyone says because Jeffrey has made the world of difference to the standard of my housekeeping. I was going to leave the kitchen in a state of disarray before I came up here to the laptop but instead I've cleared everything and cleaned up. Just in case. Smile

BerylStreep · 21/08/2015 21:46

Yes, it's illegal. Wasting police time, various offences under misuse of telecommunications Act, Harassment etc.

I hope the police have the resources to be able to identify the perp. Smile

(former regular user under another name here)

I have a question about this book giveaway.
www.mumsnet.com/books/bookclub/2015/purity-by-jonathan-franzen

I want to request a book to review, but this page asks for our real name, address, username etc even before we know if we've been chosen to review the book. Confused

The page isn't or anything.

Is it actually safe to plug our info in there? Could you change it so we could express interest (pit in our username) without sending you all that personal info? In light of recent events, you'd be mad to fill out that form.

theredlion · 21/08/2015 21:48

Hoax calls are illegal in the UK.

I was on the list, I change my name frequently but the one on the list was very recent, I can't remember exactly when I changed it but it was certainly this month.

StephanieBeacham · 21/08/2015 21:50

I'd imagine that if there is the technology available to hide from the police, there's also the technology available to find someone trying to hide.

It's not like he has access to some sort of exclusive sophisticated stuff. The police will have access to the same or better.

It's a matter of time probably.

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 21:50

Well my password was post-Heartbleed so if someone else's was definitely pre (as a PP said) then that gives you an idea of the length of time he's been trying.

HelenaDove · 21/08/2015 21:54

Sim thats really disturbing. It shows the depth of his hatred for women.

SolidGoldBrass · 21/08/2015 21:58

The police are very keen to have a word with Jeffrey about the swatting attacks. They hate that sort of thing.

Arkkorox · 21/08/2015 22:03

I wonder when they get him if he will do a daily mail article complete with Classic sadface

' Mean ladies are mean '

Sad Grin
StephanieBeacham · 21/08/2015 22:03

Well he seems to have missed that he isn't just attacking women, he's attacking his fellow chaps too - how must they feel to be dragged out at 3am from their kids, sent to a random property and then find it was all a load of bollocks?

Bloody angry I'd imagine. It makes a fool of them.

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 21/08/2015 22:03

Argh. I am on really shit wifi so apologies if this posts a million times.

Pre heart bleed data on the list proves nothing much - he may have just mixed a heart bleed list in to look impressive. A bigger worry would be medium term stuff - post heartbleed but old.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/08/2015 22:04

Thanks for confirming.
I thought they were illegal but then I watch a lot of stuff on Netflux so movie facts and actual facts merge sometimes

iamaboveandBeyond · 21/08/2015 22:04

Grin might lift the boycott for one day

TiredButFineODFOJ · 21/08/2015 22:05

Swatting sounds so lighthearted as a word. Endangerment to life and harassment is more like it.

Arkkorox · 21/08/2015 22:06

Plus my phone keeps changing it to twatting

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 22:07

That would be rather a good auto-correct Arkkorox if it wasn't so nasty for all the people involved.

Grauniad · 21/08/2015 22:08

MN Towers, I can't delete my PMs. Any ideas? When I try, I get an otherwise blank screen saying 'success', but the PMs are all still there.

Arkkorox · 21/08/2015 22:09

It would wouldn't it Sim

It changed it to swag attack earlier too, and Twitter to titter. I know im not very serious often but this doesn't help things.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/08/2015 22:09

granuiad

if not on PC try through Mumsnet Desktop Site

twirlypoo · 21/08/2015 22:11

Can anyone remember who it was who had an email to say their account was attempted to be accessed on a guinea pig forum they went on? Someone else on site stuff has complained of the same issue but on a rabbit forum they use. Wondering if it's the same site.... And of ole Jeff has a pet fetish?!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/08/2015 22:11

I think Jeff's twitter pal "PreLoad" is Jeff. Just Jeff. Talking to himself on the intertubes. Bless.

Yup.

Icimoi on his twitter list someone called Han has put a screenshot of the Mumsnet post. It was the 'I will not be a victim' thread.

I reckon this ^ is Jeff too...bless Jim, he's trying so hard to make himself famous.

For some reason this keeps popping into my head whenever his name comes up:

HoneyDragon · 21/08/2015 22:11

I'm bored of being hacked now.

What shall do instead?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/08/2015 22:12

Jim = him, or perhaps Jeff. Not really sure
