The poster who had their profile changed said that a racist post was made under their username yesterday. They also said they were on their fifth username in 3 days.

So how did they access her account after the password change? Are the phishers still phishing?

Bloody hell, I've learned more about IT in the last 48 hours than I have in the 30+ years I've been using computers in a half-arsed way. I haven't a clue. I've just had to find out how to screenshot 'cos NONE of your suggestions worked for me.

I've written it all down now (in pencil, natch) in my new notebook. Along with the million new passwords that I've had to change.

And to think, I'm the 'techno' one in our house

ive lost my username forever I cant remember the email I used to sign up it was that long ago now. I used a seperate one from facebook email to keep it private.
ive always stayed logged in via mobile device. whenever I needed to sign in I used username and password, not email and password. so now I dont know what email it was to get a new pw. what an utter ballache. I can only guess im not the only one in this boat.

Aha, thanks TeaPleaseLouise. I got it several times & couldn't log in. Was starting to get annoyed withdrawal symptoms so have gone out & had some retail therapy instead.

howtorebuild Do you mean the Hamburglar? Never heard of him .

I'm sure the police are keeping an eye on his Twitter accounts and will have spotted the threat to the Guardian / Orr. One would hope so, anyway.

The forced log out didn't happen for everyone. I haven't been forced out yet, I haven't been prompted to change my password, it is still non compliant.
