Following on from discussion on another thread - could we have a Scottish section, please?

The local information is good, but it is too local to apply to the whole of Scotland, if you see what I mean.

OO I don't seriously think anyone would expect it to be called bawbagsnet! I took it as a lighthearted suggestion. Smile

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/03/2015 10:57

Maw doesn't bother me (although I don't like the word and don't use it) but bawbag is a word I've often seen used as an insult. I also think it isn't very inclusive

How about fannybawsnet? Thats pretty inclusive Grin

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/03/2015 11:00

*sniggers

fannybawsnet

Christinayangstwistedsister · 26/03/2015 11:23

fannybawsnet.....yes you are right, this is a far better representation of equality

OOAOML · 26/03/2015 11:24

Pretty rude that one but have to go as wAtching Richard 3 service and it is starting

SirChenjin · 26/03/2015 11:26

A Scottish section would be good for certain things, but FFS not a Mawsnet or any other weegie term that effectively ignores the rest of Scotland.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/03/2015 11:32

Oh dear its getting serious. I honestly wouldn't expect mumsnet to give us a Scottish topic with anything other than a boring Scotsnet or just plain Scotland name. But its nice to cairy oan!
Wink

SirChenjin · 26/03/2015 11:38

'Kay - as long as we're not going all shortbreed, kilts and och aye the noo then count me in

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/03/2015 11:40

What about TeacakeSpotting?

StayingSamVimesGirl · 26/03/2015 11:41

So you don't think we should ask for all the OPs in a MNScotsnet section to be hightlighted in tartan then, SirChenjin? WinkGrinlighthearted

Christinayangstwistedsister · 26/03/2015 11:47

och how noo

SirChenjin · 26/03/2015 11:53

God no Staying - we should ask for them to be deep fried Grin

AndThisIsTrue · 26/03/2015 11:55

Can we also have a deep fried mars bar instead of a Biscuit ?!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/03/2015 11:55

So you don't think we should ask for all the OPs in a MNScotsnet section to be hightlighted in tartan then

Can you imagine the stramash that would cause! How would we decide which tartan?

SirChenjin · 26/03/2015 11:57

Definitely safer to stay clear of tartan. Unless it's the famous Chen tartan, of course.

Viviennemary · 26/03/2015 12:02

I agree that this would be a very good idea. Even laws governing marriage and inheritance, house buying, are all different from the rest of the UK.

SirChenjin · 26/03/2015 12:17

I wondered what that awful noise coming from under the table was Christina - I didn't like to say...

BarrowlandBiddy · 26/03/2015 12:20

It's an AYE! from me for a Scottish section, whatever name it goes by Smile

Christinayangstwistedsister · 26/03/2015 12:25

Well I have had a bit of a dodgy stomach, too many chips and fried mars bar I fear.....

SenecaFalls · 26/03/2015 12:39

Ah, but the biscuit already has a Scottish origin. Biscuit

SirChenjin · 26/03/2015 12:40

I always think that biscuit looks like a ginger Scot who's been out in the sun for too long

OOAOML · 26/03/2015 13:07

According to twitter, you can now get a creme egg Scotch egg. I feel a bit sick.

Paintedpinksapphires · 26/03/2015 13:18

Actually witches suggestion of MumsnetAlba is lovely and nicely inclusive I'd have thought.

SirChenjin · 26/03/2015 13:19

Alba??! What's wrong with Scotland?
