Following on from discussion on another thread - could we have a Scottish section, please?

The local information is good, but it is too local to apply to the whole of Scotland, if you see what I mean.

pineapple crush but that could have been Bon accord as they came on different days and we got both

Mrsjayy · 09/04/2015 22:00

Oh my god red kola is amazing not had it in years allpine also did iron brew was rank

cococandyfloss · 09/04/2015 22:16

See Justine's response the other day highlighted exactly why we need a Scottish section...No bloody bank holiday Mondays! ;) Great idea as others have pointed out -schooling different, house buying process different and of course we need to discuss the Bon Accord lorry! (I was pineapple crush or limeade type of girl)

OneMagnumisneverenough · 09/04/2015 22:37

was Bon-accord/alpine just a Scottish thing?

KatoPotato · 10/04/2015 00:17

Sanja cola! AndRadioactive coloured orangeade!

SirChenjin · 10/04/2015 14:58

Just saw on the other thread that we are definitely getting a Scottish thread - hurrah!!! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/a2346839-So-MNHQ-are-we-getting-a-Scottish-section-or-not?msgid=53651089#53651089

So what are we calling it then??

NorahDentressangle · 10/04/2015 18:52

OK ladies/quines/lassies, hold up your right hands.

'I promise to always visit the Scottish MN section and to comment on something anything every so often and not just go to AIBU and ignore it like most of the other threads
so we won't seem like a bunch of whingers but interested and committed MNers'

PacificDogwood · 10/04/2015 22:50
Grin

Shouldn't we be swearing on a Broon's annual or similar??

Didactylos · 10/04/2015 22:59

Hurrah!
I really have been restraining myself from offering venacular advice eg
'No' is a complete sentence - and so is 'get tae fuck!'

OneMagnumisneverenough · 10/04/2015 23:19

I'll swear on Rab C's simmit... Grin

KatieScarlettreregged · 11/04/2015 09:04

I'm in even though the site keeps kicking me out.
My flaky weather app says sleet for tomorrow. Gotta love our weather!

Momagain1 · 11/04/2015 11:52

Tomorrow, hell! I am getting sleet right this very minute as I read this page in the west end of Glasgow!

My mom left at 4 this morning, back to the states., so the weather turned out lovely while she was here! She minded ds last night while we went out to dinner, and dh got tickets way up at the top of the Hydro for Sting & Paul Simon. Mom brought my potted plants in off the windowsill as I had done last weekend when it was still chill, but not the last few days. Thank goodness she did. The wind, with sleet, is blowing hard enough I thought the planters had blown down! But no, they are on the laminate in the kitchen where the drips wont do so much damage.

I couldnt sleep between outpr getting in, and wanting to be sure to get up with her. Then couldntt go back to sleep. So, since yesterday 7 A.M. i have walked 9k, shopping with mom, taking ds to park, and then to dinner and concert with dh, there was much singing and dancing at the concert, and then I was up all night.

An American friend who lives in Ireland has come to Glasgow for the weekend with her roomate. Wants to meet for coffee this afternoon. i hate to not go. i also hate to get dressed and go.

Momagain1 · 11/04/2015 11:53

Oh, and the cat threw up a hairball on my duvet.

Sleet and wind have gone by though.

KatieScarlettreregged · 11/04/2015 12:42

I was out last night straight from a long day at work, then off out to buy birthday presents then a quick visit to the parentals.
I now plan to lazily supervise the laundry and eat cake.
Yes, hail too here earlier. Planned to clear out the inside of my shit tip on wheels but it's too rainy. Oh well... Wink

GrouchyKiwi · 11/04/2015 13:29

Solemnly swearing &c.

This weather is wacko. 17C yesterday and hail today.

frankie80 · 11/04/2015 13:49

solemnly swearing here.

Bloody freezing the day

Christinayangstwistedsister · 11/04/2015 15:08

I swear to do my very bestest for scotsnet and ignore aibu until some eejit gets on my nerves

SirChenjin · 11/04/2015 15:55

I just swear. A lot.

As long as it's not called Mawsnet/Alba Net/anything tartan and shortbreed then I'm easy. Scots Net? Mumsnet Scotland? Anything along those lines is fine by me Smile

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 11/04/2015 16:22

Another solemn swear...

Agree about the weather. It is absolutely Baltic today. DD, of course, has insisted in wearing her sandals so I suspect she may return with rather cold toes.

KateSMumsnet · 13/04/2015 17:08

Here it is, the new Scotsnet topic, lang may yer lum reek*

*Disclaimer - I just googled Scottish phrases, I apologies in advance for any cultural insensitivity!

Enjoy Grin. If there are any existing threads that you think should be in the new topic, please do report them to us and we'll move them across Smile
