Over 50's

Hi Ladies

Could we have an "over 50's" category?

I am seriously becoming more and more shocked and upset with AIBU/Chat. The amount of "scoffing" and nastiness on mumsnet is very unpleasant.

OP posts:

Ah, I've got it, how about

KneesOfTheBee · 14/02/2015 18:55

I thought we were supposed to get meaner as we got older.

I obviously haven't read the instructions properly.

FruChristerOla · 14/02/2015 18:57

MrsDV, you might have had pink hair - I can't really remember - we were outside Earls Court!

Marshy · 14/02/2015 18:57

Well its been nice chatting to all you oldies. I'm off to snooze in front of thr tv in my big slipper Grin

See you around

QueenTilly · 14/02/2015 18:58

There's a thought? Do punks drink gin? MrsDeVere?

My mother was a punk and she drinks vodka, white wine and cider. And Holsten Pils, but I can't remember what type of alcohol that is.

OP just hide AIBU (although I haven't figured out how to hide full topics yet) somethings obviously upset you but just click off and look at something else. It's the beauty of online playtime.

Holsten Pils is quite high octane lager, Queen. I used to drink it until I became an ancient wimp!

PetulaGordino · 14/02/2015 19:03

This thread is very confusing - does the OP want an over-50s section to keep out the meanies or to contain them?

Either way, I love the range of ages on here

SAGA doesn't have a chat forum anymore.

They all got arsey and argumentative (whilst not being allowed to swear ever).

So the management closed it down because they thought it sullied SAGA's reputation.

That's why I came here...

Honeydragon · 14/02/2015 19:11

I like Tizer

I'm on my SECOND glass already.

Grin In that case, my mother's punk credentials are solid. Solid as her membership of the over-fifties club. I look forward to MN instituting the topic so I can be a fly on the wall and I'll introduce her to Mumsnet.

Be warned: my grandmother never mellowed with age and my mother doesn't show much sign of it either!

LikeIcan · 14/02/2015 19:13

Seriously though, I think a 'cosy corner' is a good idea. Somewhere to go if you're getting a bit stressed on the main boards. A place to go & listen to nice relaxing music or something?

FruChristerOla · 14/02/2015 19:16

That was the day MrsDV, your youngest is gorgeous.

And, yeah, those little bottles of Pils were are great!! It's a long time since I've drunk a Pils though!

magimedi · 14/02/2015 19:42

*I was a punk for fucks sake.

I don't want to be shuffled off to a 'nice' topic.*

I was a dirty hippy - FFS.

Am also not willing to shuffle.

I don't shuffle - I kick ass. Mightily.

And I well remember those little bottles of Pils.

And HUGE respect to our resident poet - Honeydragon - that was amazing.

Normally I'm a proponent of PARD, but the OP's strange proposition has made me want to break the habits of over 5 decades and be curmudgeonly. Confused

QueenTilly · 14/02/2015 20:14

No dissing the People's Friend! It's a grown-ups' Bunty/Mandy/Judy/M&J(the collaboration of Mandy and Judy in response to reduced circulation), i.e. great.

Nanny0gg · 14/02/2015 20:27

Nanny0gg broke Saga

I was only one of many argumentative slightly arsey members.

I am well over 50, please can I stay. I got told off on Gransnet for lowering the tone a few weeks ago.

BackforGood · 14/02/2015 20:56

Do you have to be a Grandparent to go over to Gransnet ?
What if you hit 80 and are not a grandparent?
Or what if you become a Granny at 36 ?
Is it something to do with purple rinses and twinsets, or are you just allowed in if you can prove you are one of those vile, all-taking baby boomers?
