Hi all,

As you know we have launched the new mobile site, we know it's a big change and we are still very keen to get it right with your help. This is very much a version that will evolve with your help as part of the testing process.

There have been a few glitches that have/are being ironed out and the HUGE thread has nearly maxed out, so we thought it best to start a shiny new one.

We know change is tricky but, as with most things MN, we are all ears and happy to look at any feedback you have on ways we can improve the new site.

Ok. There seems to be some good changes happening. I like that we now have a preview of post under thread title in threads I'm on. Much better. I just think the line spacing or size could be looked at to make this clearer.
Also any chance of getting MY colours back. Not a fan of this grey colour for op posts.
It is also still very slow. Other than that it does seem that you are making all the right changes apart from just going back to old site

When I click on TIO the list comes up but nothing is happening when I click on one, this is new as it was fine yesterday!

I still think that a Poster's profile should be found by clicking on their name.

It's generally okay for me though. It'll take some getting used to. It's very white, and some things aren't where I left them.

I am FED UP of using the mobile site in good faith, taking time to write a reply and then it not fucking posting!!!!

It's much slower loading long threads like this one than the desktop site. I'm pleased there are a few posts visible in TIO but the font is so big you can now only see one thread in the window between the ad and the blue buttons. I don't like the blue buttons, and I don't like the speech marks. Still a long way to go till it's as good as the old version for me, I'm going back to desktop.

Although to be fair it's not too bad on the IPad, but I never used the old version on that, always desktop. It's very frustrating on my phone (IPhone 4s, latest OS).

violetwellies I feel your pain regarding the ad and toolbar. It's a bloody nightmare! No need for the ad to be there continuously, if it has to be there MNHQ could it not scroll up with the top of the page please??

Can I also say the adverts are strange. I have never in the past searched for 'mobility aids'. So I don't think they're catered specifically for me. Is it some kind of random advert generator whatsit?

Morning all,

Quick update in terms of who's around here over the weekend. We have tech on call for fixes, and of course various MNHQers will be here to talk, and help wherever we can. Please, if you can bear it, keep the feedback coming; it's extremely useful, and we'll be cracking on again at full speed on Tuesday.

When I'm on other websites the address bar at the top disappears as I scroll up the page. It doesn't do that on the new mobile site. This means there is even less screen available. Can you sort that?

Also my phone crashes whenever I try to re-read/ edit my posts, then I lose what I was writing and have to start again Hmm

I know we have to live with ads of some sort but I'm sure in the past MN tried having ads that stuck at the top of the screen all the time on the mobile site and we all moaned. Then the ads were changed to floaty ones that moved up and disappeared as you scrolled. Can we have that back? Then we'd only have to see the ads once the page loaded - not all the time.

Battery is still an issue - 15mins of MN and battery dropped over 10%! Shock

I know there's a lot to do but in all honesty I can see myself drifting away from MN and not coming back. I'm already spending less time here because it's so horrid and I don't feel the same 'pull'. I believe I am getting clean of my MN habit! Shock

I haven't read both of these threads fully, but wanted to say that I really like the new format (after the initial shock wore off). Very 'clean'. I also like how you are working through the snagging so quickly.

Can I add my own request - on this thread the colour to highlight MN posts is nice and strong so it is v clear. On other threads the highlight for OP is a very subtle pale colour. Beautiful, but not v helpful Smile

I've given up and have switched to the desktop version on my phone. It's a pain but at least I can do everything and the whole screen is used.

Can MN tell how many users they've got and have lost from the mobile version? It's no good if we all switch over to desktop, particularly as you don't see the adverts on the desktop version...

I'm getting the landscape jumpy problem and am not on IOS.

Lenovo yoga tablet, android 4.2.2, default android browser.

Flowers for the quick fixes, it's somewhat less shit.
