Hi all,

As you know we have launched the new mobile site, we know it's a big change and we are still very keen to get it right with your help. This is very much a version that will evolve with your help as part of the testing process.

There have been a few glitches that have/are being ironed out and the HUGE thread has nearly maxed out, so we thought it best to start a shiny new one.

We know change is tricky but, as with most things MN, we are all ears and happy to look at any feedback you have on ways we can improve the new site.

All right, I've moaned A LOT. However fair play to all for addressing the issues. It's a lot better than on black Wednesday (as I now like to call it)

The floating advert, can it not just be static at the top of the page?

I cant click on tio now, I can see that there are new messages so thats an improvement, but when I try to click on the thread title it doesnt do anything. I can click on one of the messages to get in bit on a long or fast moving thread that might he along way from where I last read, and it doesnt take me to where I bookmarked .

Have just looked at the mobile site on the iPad instead of my phone and its fine on there! Got the customise button, the 3 little dots and all the other bits I can't do on my phone! Should be ok when the 'glitches' are sorted! Still going to use the desktop site on the ipad though!

There'll be someone looking in on this thread all weekend to keep you up to date with what's happening, what changes we're aiming to make, and also (hopefully) answering your questions. Please bear with us - we're afraid the pace of change won't be so quick over the weekend as it has been today but we are reading every post and keeping notes of everything you bring up to deal with as soon as we can.

Again, just to reiterate what RowanMumsnet said this morning: We know we could have done much, much better in the way we rolled this out and we're extremely sorry that this wasn't handled better.

And, another reminder - to help us improve things as quickly as possible when you report a glitch/something not working/something displaying weirdly PLEASE TELL US:

which DEVICE you're using (iPhone, Galaxy, Blackberry, iPad, Nexus, Kindle Fire etc etc);
which OPERATING SYSTEM you're using (which version of iOS, Chrome, which version of Windows, etc etc); and
which BROWSER you're using (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox etc).

Without this info, we can't do much with the info you give us so PLEASE PLEASE include it, every time you post about something not working (even if you gave the same info earlier on in the thread).

Thanks again for putting up with us while we sort it. We know it's REALLY annoying and we are REALLY grateful.

Thanks for the info on moving ads. We'll add them to our list, and also the suggestions re floaty ads.
Also, Kimlo and anyone else having problems with TIO still, could you let us know which device, browser and OS you're using? That'll help us narrow down what the problem is.

Do you REALLY think that tiny message space is acceptable, really?????

The pictures thing is still happening on my iPhone 5c. Safari. iOS 7.1.2
Pics are tiny. Clicking on them brings them up in a box of their own but no bigger and now clicking on that box to try to make it bigger does nothing.

Oh FFS! And it posted halfway through!!!
Anyways, as i was saying, if I try to 'pinch & drag' to make the pic larger it just jumps to the bottom right hand corner of the screen where it sulks & won't let me see the X to close the pic box.

Ok. It didn't post halfway through. It just looked Like it did.
I swear this website is trying to make me look daft. I can do that well enough on my own!

Icanmakeyouicecream - yes, we agree, it is, ahem.. 'bijou'. It's gone on The List. We'll update you all as soon as there is news on it.

Germgirl - thanks for that info. Useful to know exactly which devices etc are having problems where. This issue is on our list and we're going to look at it next week. Here's in the meantime.

Nokia Lumia something using Chrome browser.

Youtube videos don't play, hitting it just scrolls to the top of the screen.

Thanks JuniperTisane - we are having some compatibility issues with Nokia Lumias which we are looking into, and we'll add the YouTube problem to The List.

Anyone else having YouTube issues? Particularly if you're not on a Nokia Lumia or a Samsung Galaxy - we'd be interested to know if it's a wider issue.

TIO - The individual posts are now showing which is brilliant, however when I click on a post so it will take me to that post it doesn't. Instead it loads the whole thread from the beginning as one long page instead of individual pages & takes forever to load.

I also do not appear to have the 3 dots people are talking about so can't change any preferences such as number of posts to view

Oh my posts either don't work or don't look like they have worked meaning they eventually show up 3+ times through the mobile site making it basically unusable :(

You know what though? There may be some Windows phone compatability issues but I don't have wandering ads or tiny viewing space or toolbars which get in the way of anything. It all sits nicely in one place (even if some of it is blank ).

I think its starting to come together now. Huge improvement from Wednesday even though there's lots to sort still.

I can't imagine how much it is costing to replace and now 'fix' something that wasn't broke in the first place!!

Used to love being comfy on the sofa, MNing from my iPhone 4.

Can't be bothered with it tonight. It's all too small on the screen and difficult to navigate.

Can't see enough on one page to be able to follow threads properly. Can barely see one post at a time without scrolling.

Can't see number of posts in a thread from the top of the thread (by the title).

Can't navigate from the top of the thread.

Awful glare on top of all that is the last straw. I can't look at it. Going to read a book instead.

Will miss the company though

and instead of opening picture it took me to the top of the page (pic 2)

Can I just drop in to say I love the new mobile version although typing is a bit slow. But works for me.

also, now the weather is cold, I'm wearing a cardigan and the labels in my teeshirt are causing my neck to itch like fury

this didn't happen when I didn't have to wear the cardy.

I've had to go back to the desktop site on my laptop.

I couldn't post on the mobile site and the three dots have disappeared from posts. I just have three blank circles at the top of the screen and none of them contains an option to post.

Threads take an age to load and the blue bar obliterates the text.

Back on desktop until the thread pages are sorted because I'm still seeing ALL messages instead of pages like my customize is set to.

Everything is slooooow. And despite my settings being on "Show 100 messages", when I click on a post through TIO, it loads up every single message in the thread and takes me to the OP instead of the post I selected in TIO. So I have to scroll AAAAAALL the way down to get to where I wanted to be.

I'm giving up on MN for the evening. I loved nothing more than an evening on the sofa with fuck all to watch, reading MN on my phone

It took me so long to write this post because it froze up everytime I clicked somewhere in the text to correct a mistake.

Aw! a few morsels of positive feedback!

We know there is a long way to go and a lot of problems but nice to hear that it's even a tad better to use after a couple of days. We're keeping at it, don't worry.

Samsung Galaxy feedback on TIO is added to The List.

I like it Iona, but don't tell everyone else.

Please could you add to the list of patches:

1. The functionality to hide threads from the active convos list?

I used to be able to hide threads without opening them. With the new mobile site, I have to open the thread, then click the three little dots, then press HIDE THREAD, then press back to get back to the list.
