Just thought we could start a shiny new thread, as the old one is getting so long. Anyone care to join me?

But dd is squawking so can't actually write anything... Back later to post photos of back carries and my new babyhawk!

I will do Cornflakegirl
Norma - I'm not sure the pattern is really for me, good luck selling. I'd have thought Ebay would be a good place to sell?

NormaSknockers · 18/06/2009 14:49

Seemingly not for slings - will try again though

newlark · 18/06/2009 15:52

Norma - the Natural Mamas forum has a very active For Sale or Trade Board. Also the UK Babywearingswap yahoo group.

NormaSknockers · 18/06/2009 17:25

Thanks newlark shall check them out

FruitynNutty · 20/06/2009 20:52

Cornflake - I think I will sell my Moby I'm just putting it though the wash now. Are you still interested?

cornflakegirl · 22/06/2009 10:02

Fruity - sorry, have been offline all weekend. Yes, I'm still after one - how much were you thinking of selling for?

FruitynNutty · 22/06/2009 14:21

Hi cornflake - I'm really sorry but a friend of mine really wants it now. There are 13 on Ebay right now two of which are used

I've been looking at the Close ones on Ebay ans was very surprised to see a second hand one that went for the same price as a brand new one!

cornflakegirl · 22/06/2009 15:19

Fruity - thanks for letting me know.

Have been keeping a close eye on Ebay recently - the wraps do seem to hold their value well...

FruitynNutty · 22/06/2009 15:48

If my friend changes her mind you will be the 1st to know

Hello - just opening the cupboard door to see if anyone's here

newlark · 22/07/2009 20:31

Hi - still have this thread on my watch list but it has all gone quiet - guess everyone is chatting about their slings elsewhere - slingmeet and natural mamas are where I sometimes post. We'll have to start an August thread for next week - I think it's useful for mners with questions to have somewhere to ask...

ChairmumMiaow · 23/07/2009 18:53

maybe we should start another thread for July (or perhaps august in advance!)

pseudoname · 23/07/2009 18:56

Miaw! i have missed you. (we were at the abm conference together.) i was wondering the other day if you had flounced or just avoiding me.

ChairmumMiaow · 23/07/2009 19:37

heh!

Just not been on mumsnet much lately. Life gets in the way sometimes!

MoominMymbleandMy · 23/07/2009 20:00

Perhaps we'd better leave the month off the next thread!

I've answered some sling questions in the meantime, so it isn't that people aren't interested. They just don't see this thread because it's such a fast board.

I admit I do most of my sling nattering elsewhere. I'd do more here if MNHQ would be so kind as to give us a Sling Topic.

newlark · 23/07/2009 20:51

I agree - leave the months off and perhaps whoever starts it could put some nice welcoming general statement in the first post inviting people to ask questions or just generally chat about slings.

I got a new sling today - a storch anna 3.6 - am hoping I'll use it more than a 4.6 if there aren't long tails to deal with.

Hi, I've just found this thread again, it would be a brilliant idea for Mumsnet to have a proper Sling topic.

I've been on mumsnet for over 5 years now, but have recently found the babywearing website naturalmamas, so I'm usually hanging around their forums (I have a 9 month old baby daughter, and four other children too).

I started off with a Coorie fleece wrap, then bought two Kozy mei tai's which I love, then moved onto a Connecta and today I got my first wrap conversion an OMT ER mei tai, ooh, it's gorgeous and so comfortable! Has anyone been to a slingmeet? .

AnnieLobeseder · 05/08/2009 18:55

Hello sling ladies!

Does anyone know if you can get a toy sling in Ergo style? DD loves to take her dolls with her when we go walking, and I fashion a wrap sling for her out of two scarves but it's not a great solution! I know you can get BabyBjorn-types but I want a back-carry type for her like the Ergo her little sister is in!

AnnieLobeseder · 05/08/2009 19:30

BTW - I've got a blue Calin Bleu looking for a new home if anyone's interested....

newlark · 05/08/2009 21:37

I know you can get toy mei-tai type slings that tie on but haven't seen an ergo style. You could have a go at making one?

pseudoname · 05/08/2009 23:53

yes you can get toy ergos but i don't know if available yet in the UK. there are other toy buckle carriers too as well as pouch slings.

I have made a no-sew meitai for dd1 using a cheap fleece blanket bought in Ikea.

browny · 06/08/2009 17:12

Hope this is ok to put this here, someone just sent me the link to this competition and thought you all would want to see it!!

We can come out of the cupboard now because MNHQ has given us a sling topic!
