What is a pervert?

I seem to recall two or three times in this bit of the board where folks have cruised by and used the word pervert, but when I have politely asked for a definition of the term/asked what they mean, the question has always been swerved. I have even been advised to google it, which to my mind seems dubious if not avoidant advice.

The term seems to be tossed around a fair bit, though usually I let it pass.

So what do the good folks of the sex board define the term as?

This is also an opportunity of course for those folks who have avoided questions to have their say and educate us.

Various different translations, but this is from the King James bible:

Matthew 23:13
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Which, seems to me, that @Catullus5 is accusing me of hypocrisy.

If he isn't, then I'm not really quite sure why he's quoted that specific verse.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to"

That is the NIV version - more modern English.

Still sounds like I'm being accused of hypocrisy ...

@HidingFromFamilyAtXmas You could try the Relationships board too, it gets more traffic and the people there tend to be usually ok.

@porridgeisbae Thank you. I’ll have a think and maybe post in the new year on one of the other boards. I haven’t been able to get a GP appointment so thought I could rely on mumsnet for some help and advice but the thread has really put me off using mumsnet altogether tbh. I went to a menopause group locally thinking I could talk to women but even that had men tagging along. Feeling in need of help soth all things menopause related and don’t know where to turn and it’s frustrating on top of everything else. Thanks anyway.

@HidingFromFamilyAtXmas if you’re on Facebook, M-Brace the Change Menopause Support are fantastic. The mods are away for the Christmas break but I think you should be able to access lots of advice sheets. They really know their stuff!

The menopause board here is full of advice and support.

It's almost unbelievable that even the regular users here are recommending to a woman that she'd be better off posting on a different board.

Mermaid has even recommended a different website.

Yes I find the menopause board best place for menopause support which is what the pp was on about, it's hardly a newsflash is it. I'd suggest the doghouse to anyone needing dog advice as well.

The poster obviously had a sex based query, relating to menopause to have been thinking of posting here before reading this thread. I can understand her not wanting to post that here having been made aware of the perverts.

Well maybe after Christmas Mermaid can finally tell me how she tells the difference between perverts and what she calls "genuine posters".
