What is a pervert?

I seem to recall two or three times in this bit of the board where folks have cruised by and used the word pervert, but when I have politely asked for a definition of the term/asked what they mean, the question has always been swerved. I have even been advised to google it, which to my mind seems dubious if not avoidant advice.

The term seems to be tossed around a fair bit, though usually I let it pass.

So what do the good folks of the sex board define the term as?

This is also an opportunity of course for those folks who have avoided questions to have their say and educate us.

I reported the other thread that you refer to @Catullus5 - because I didn't feel that the poster (overall) was genuine. But the only one that MNHQ have deleted was the one on this thread. Their decision to let the others stand. Presumably they have given the poster the benefit of the doubt? (To be fair, their other posts do look as if they might be genuine, whereas the one posted in this topic was dubious, to say the very least).

I went on marches against its adoption, and took my children with me.

I have never been opposed to homosexuality.

But what has that got to do with this thread?

The irony is that I've just moved my family out of a church because I have no confidence that the leadership would deal with creepy behaviour. I can't win either way, but there it is.

Because it has everything to do with overreach, ie, wanting to chill discussion in the name of decency. Churches, particularly evangelical ones, have a long history of this and encouraging their members to do this. The ramifications should be very, very clear. It was also people in churches who got in a panic about forgotten memory syndrome and got innocent people convicted. The churches, even now, are enormous havens of anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment. They encourage censoriousness.

Talking to men might be why you come here, but clearly, there are a lot of women who like mumsnet for what it is, and find the general ratio of men to women on the sex board out of balance.

You may also find it difficult to believe that in two of the churches where I played the organ, I asked for my fees to be donated to the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement.

But again - what have any of our religious affiliations got to do with this thread?

@Graasspp I chat with men and women about sex here. If I only chat with women how would I get a male perspective? (Other than my DP’s, and he can be too kind sometimes, to spare my feelings!) Another woman can tell me how it feels to have an orgasm, she can’t tell me how a male orgasm feels, or prostate massage.

I do think that the thread is being sidetracked, though.

I’ve just more deflection. They know there’s a problem with pervs here and want to talk about anything but that. I think they were hoping the thread would disappear.

They’ve tried blaming us for looking here and having our PMs open, hinting we’re prudes, trying to shame us for spending too much time on mumsnet, calling us bullies, minimising, calling us liars etc.

The problem is perverts.

I just talk to my partner. Whether something feels good, bad or other to ‘all the men’ is irrelevant. I’m not having sex with them and also realise that they may not be genuine anyway.

interestingly, I've realised, no gay men ever post here, although some gay women do. I wonder why.
