Brit School KS4 2024

Hi all,

I thought I'd start a thread for KS4 applications for Brit School as my daughter has her workshop and interview this week and I know we will both be anxiously waiting to here afterwards!

She's applying for Film and Media production strand as is really passionate about working within the film industry..

We have no idea what to expect at the workshop and interview at all!

We’ve just received the email, it’s a no 😞

@GreenPombear we’re waiting to hear back regarding IDD. There is nothing under additional phases either. Maybe it’s an error. Can you access you child application? Maybe log in with their details & see if you get the same message X

@GreenPombear From what I understand, the KS4 children only receive acceptance emails, not rejection emails, and this is so that their parents can tell them rather than them receiving an email with bad news when they’re on their own. X

So sorry for you and your DD, sending you lots of love going forward. This is going to be a really hard few weeks for so many kids and parents 🥲

So after yesterdays post I just logged in to the Brit site and ours no longer says 'Pending'. It dosn't say anything else mind!!!! so now i just feel sick that we will hear soon! This is FMP btw :-)

Oh I checked that page every single day. I feelnso.anxious for you all.
My daughters said Pending right up untill the day she was offered her spot. I've added a photo for you. X

@ginman I’m with you, I’m in anxiety hell at the moment, I can’t even look at my son’s page after yesterday’s post I house hope it still says pending🙏 Everytime I hear a notification on my phone my stomach drops. We’re waiting to hear back regarding IDD. X
has anyone else received any updates regarding their child’s strands?

😱 oh gosh I can’t cope! One way or another be nice when this is all over! This is ours now - without Pending 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Weirdly my daughter's (VAD strand) still says pending but she has an offer and we've completed the paperwork!

One of her friends had an offer earlier today for theatre (in catchment) though so they are starting to come out.

@ginman So hard not to overthink though isn't it? I've been having to tell myself that the lack of pending doing anything doesn't mean anything, even though she had an offer!😂

my daughter is on the reserve list for Theatre is anyone else been reserved or got a place. I know it’s impossible to tell but just want a little bit of hope that she gets a place 😊

Beyond excited here as DS2 has just had the email and has a place at the Theatre course - he auditioned on 19th Feb.

@girlwhowearsglasses - huge well done to your son, that's amazing!

@Roman4864 - well done to your daughter too - to make the reserve list is a huge achievement in itself. No experience of how many from the reserve lists end up being offered a place, but will keep fingers crossed for you. xx

Well done to your DS @girlwhowearsglasses and thank you for posting - it’s helpful to see decisions start to come out for KS4 strands, although I feel like music will be last ☹️

Well done on that reserve place! from talking to others there is often movement, a friend of mines daughter got in for music the day before term started 2 years ago!
