Brit School KS4 2024

Hi all,

I thought I'd start a thread for KS4 applications for Brit School as my daughter has her workshop and interview this week and I know we will both be anxiously waiting to here afterwards!

She's applying for Film and Media production strand as is really passionate about working within the film industry..

We have no idea what to expect at the workshop and interview at all!

Ugh, it’s taking so loooong! I’ve given up checking emails and the Brit website and I’m just relying on this thread now to know if there’s anything happening!

Musical theatre here. It’s officially mid March today so surely we have to find out this week! I’m glad you started this thread @ginman cos the wait would be even harder without it, so thank you!!!

Music here. My DC has a friend who applied for musical theatre and they haven’t heard back yet either @Zanthe . DC also has a friend who applied for theatre and they heard last week that they have a place.

I actually wrote out a little list based on this thread of which strands had heard on which days and which hadn’t!

makes you feel better, I may have been stalking the BRIT Instagram account 🙈, since there was a post they were tagged in about an acceptance (VAD)

I think last year some people waited five weeks or more! And they received emails apologising for the delay!

MT for us - not heard anything yet. Friends also waiting on Music.

I think last year music was one of the last to find out, we found out the first week of April. But I think you had your interviews a little earlier than us ... We interviewed on the 5th of March. Not long guys 😍

Omg. Im so glad ive found people having the same stressful month as me!!!
Another FMP mum here for my son interview was on 21st..been chewing my nails off since!!

This forum is such a godsend! My son auditioned for music on the 21st Feb, his best friend auditioned for Theatre on the 22nd. His friend heard last Tuesday that he'd been successful. We thought for sure we'd know within a few days, but a week later we are still waiting and chewing our fingernails to nibs. And our poor son is so stressed out! Just knowing that there are others in the same boat is keeping us sane! I only hope they put us all out of our misery soon.

My son also auditioned for music 21st Feb but he seems pretty chilled so far. Just me trying not to check my emails every 5 mins. He likes his current secondary and would do music and drama GCSE there, plus gets to do school musicals and is on the hockey team...so trying to focus on the positives of not getting into Brit School. Plus we can try again for 6th form. However, he does think the music department at Brit would be incredible and has heard lots of Brit students perform at local open mics, so he knows how good they are.

Still no news for FMP! Looks like another week still of stomach churning anxiety! But all the time it’s not a no at least we have hope! 😂🙈
