When all of this is finally over I'd like to see the Chief Constable of Police Scotland make a statement, before he retires, about the importance of separating the police from the control of the Scottish government. If they were truly independent and free of pressure we wouldn't be in this disgraceful situation.

But equally if the police were being controlled/pressured by the SNP then they probably wouldn't have made this arrest, today's development must be a good sign for police independence from government surely?
