Nope, I think she’s off the hook. If she does get called in she’ll be in and out in an hour and no further investigation.

Honestly, how has their sphere of influence become so wide that it’s taken this long to persuade the police to investigate them?

Sugarfree23 · 24/04/2023 17:47

I think she'll be called in. They can't not call her in. They can't exactly sweep the campervan under the carpet.

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 24/04/2023 17:51

I think she will be called in, but I think they’ll hold off as long as possible because as soon as they do the press are going to go to town on it.

Ultimately this investigation is going to be poured over and over for years, probably decades, to come.

They’ll be crossing every t and dotting every i through fear of being the one that makes the mistake that either let’s someone walk free or misses something.

BitsAndBaubles · 24/04/2023 17:53

They might arrest her on the morning of the coronation when all attention is focused elsewhere

BlueThursday · 24/04/2023 18:15

SirChenjins · 24/04/2023 16:53

Did you speak to him?

No I jumped in the car when I saw them all floating about

managed somehow to let jo Swinson think I was a mega fan in my old house; I was invited to her leaving drinks and everything. Don’t actually consider myself a LD supporter so don’t want to get caught up again in any parties 🤣

NicolaSturGONE · 24/04/2023 18:38

Read that the SNP would lose £1.2m that is given to every westminster opposition party, if they don't file their accounts in time.

But y'know, westminster baaaaaaaad.

Behind a paywall bit the headline speaks for itself

https://t.co/0Dppu9Ph9G

Oh, that's brilliant.

TokyoSushi · 24/04/2023 21:52

I think they're waiting to arrest her when they can sweep it under the proverbial Coronation carpet...

SirChenjins · 24/04/2023 22:04

Surely they wouldn’t be that predictable?!

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 24/04/2023 22:06

I don’t think they’d risk the accusation of either trying to upstage the coronation or trying to sweep it under the carpet using the coronation.

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 24/04/2023 22:07

I reckon there’s going to be some proper head scratching of “how do we do this without fucking up our own careers by seeking to be cocking up either way?”

TokyoSushi · 24/04/2023 22:08

If they don't do it this week, and then it's Bank Holiday on Monday they'll be cutting it fine, let's see!

Sugarfree23 · 24/04/2023 22:43

My bet is on Tuesday 2nd, only because Monday is a Bank Holiday

Rainbowshit · 24/04/2023 22:44

I've seen several tweets speculating that a low key arrest has already happened.

twitter.com/jockiestan/status/1649752006272098304?s=46&t=AjtjSItRj-kgZwRzL-pdyQ

Who knows if there's any truth in that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Northernsouloldies · 25/04/2023 00:31

If it has happened where's the transparency we keep hearing about. Anything with a saltire logo is at snp beck and call.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 25/04/2023 00:34

What is a low-key arrest?

and does she still get police r protection if she’s not chief mammy?

could that just be a very posh Uber?

Sugarfree23 · 25/04/2023 10:53

Low key arrest, I'll take that to mean plain clothed officers and an normal car.

As much as I want a proper giggle at seeing her cuffed and into the back of a panda car - it's probably not that great for the country.

Do we think they'll get the accounts sorted for the end of the month?

Apparently Scotland has been reentered into the international school tables will be interesting to see how that goes.

HyuNis · 25/04/2023 11:18

Apparently Scotland has been reentered into the international school tables will be interesting to see how that goes.

What was the reason given for withdrawing from the tables in the first place?

Sugarfree23 · 25/04/2023 11:41

I don't think they ever gave an official reason - widely suspected the reason was Scottish schools slipping down the table

stealtheatingtunnocks · 25/04/2023 11:49

tecahers are leaving in droves here.

My kids started school when GIRFEC came in amd the school system did not “get it right” for any of them. Quite the opposite.

the broad knowledge education that the world envied Scotlands state schools for has been obliterated. Teachers have so many rules and obligations to follow but not any clout to get the kids to behave so they can establish a learnging environment.

kids wirh extra needs are under supported and it’s a disaster for eheryone. Presumption of mainstream and inclusion is brilliant - as long as the resources are there. What has happened is kids who are anywhere near borderline for managing mainstream are chucked into a classroom of 32+ and the teacher is expected to make it work for everyone wirh no time, resources or information. Kids wirh SEN are struggling and often just removed from the class. One kid in my kids class has been taught 1:1 wirh a teaching assistant in a hallway for years. Supervised at breaks because she needs the adult support - but she is effectively excluded in the school system ans has had no teaching just worksheets from a TA who is doing her best.

I’m not a teacher but even I can see that the school system is fucked.

Sugarfree23 · 25/04/2023 11:53

Sturgeon kept banging on about closing the attainment gap - a retried HT pointed out their are 2 ways to do it.
Raise the standards at the bottom
Lower the standards at the top.

spiderplantparty · 25/04/2023 12:38

The only way I can see the attainment gap being reduced is in relation to university admission.

Claridges12 · 25/04/2023 12:50

They only seem to care about equality of attainment, not level of attainment. Can't they get their heads around the fact that Scotland does actually need high achievers - not just sound bites about how everyone is equally [un]successful? It's a race to the bottom. Similarly, Scotland doesn't particularly need to encourage a large number of people from here and elsewhere who are focused on medicalised gender transition and want to access medical treatment here. This will cost the country a fortune now and down the line (including dealing with the negligence claims).
