We’ve seen the best and the worst of Glasgow over the last couple of days.

People peacefully trying to save their friend and neighbour from being deported.

And people out for no good reason other then to illegally celebrate one team being able to kick a ball into a big net more than other teams.

I feel sorry for the wives at home who could end up catching covid from them in the coming days or get a doing behind closed doors if they are drunk and feeling violent and the wife is the only one there to abuse. And I feel sorry for A and E who have worked tirelessly to save lives of covid victims and who will now be stitching up cuts and plastering up broken bones of idiots who couldn’t stay home and enjoy their victory peacefully.

Sad.

Pp are absolutely right if we had won 10 in a row the city would have been green and white today. Some posters would genuinely shit in their hands and clap before admitting ScotGov and Police Scotland knew about this prior to there event and decided not to act.

I seem to have missed Celtic fans ripping apart the city centre for the previous nine years, in 'celebration'.

It's a problem for anyone who was going about their day in the city centre.

It's a problem of widespread public disorder.

It's a problem for the city which has a rising Covid positive rate and as a result has stayed at level 3.

It's a problem for public confidence in our police force who are apparently not able to control a large crowd.

It's a problem for the cleansing department.

It's a problem to businesses who were being advised by the police to close for the day.

It's a problem for fans of St Johnstone and Hibs who can't go to see their teams play in the Scottish Cup final - all 600 of them - while seeing thousands of other football fans taking over the city centre with little concern over social distancing.

It is going to be a problem for A&E .

That's a few ideas off the top of my head about why it's really a problem.

What happened tonight in George sq is not even comparable to what happened the other day in kenmure st! Tonight was a full scale riot with fans turning on each other and things getting smashed up.

Covid aside, what happened tonight shouldn't have even been allowed in ordinary times. You can't just take over a city centre, pish all over it, smash things up, let off flares and vandalise businesses. That is not a celebration it's a riot.

Celtic fans, 80000 went to seville and there was one arrest. Celtic won 9 titles and didn't riot through the streets of Glasgow. Rangers fans won back a title and right now they are kicking shit out each other in George sq and the police helicopter is on overtime. And dont even mention Manchester. The fans out tonight are a disgrace. There will be many more gers fans at home furious about whats happened and how bad it makes their club look.

Unfortunately after the politicians, including SNP Ministers, cheered on protesters in Glasgow just a few days ago it makes it rather difficult for them and others to now condemn football fans.

That's really not the same thing as as thousands of drunk men having a football party is it?

I was born, grew up and still live in the southside of Glasgow.

Those saying the club should be sanctioned - why?

They put out messages through the week telling fans to stay safe and announcements today asking the crowd at Ibrox to disperse. There is nothing else in the clubs power they could have done.
