Thread #3456

Released from our dirty T4, but still bamboozled. Let’s keep each other sane on here...

Thank goodness for these threads! It’s so much better to share the pain.

Maybe Edinburgh will get moved down next Tuesday...?

Bytheloch · 08/12/2020 17:05

Feeling for our Edinburgh friends, when you look at the stats there’s absolutely no justification AT ALL for you to be still T3. 🤷‍♀️

theotherfossilsister · 08/12/2020 17:07

@WouldBeGood I hope so, but think we'd have to see the rates drop any further. If we can't have tier two when our numbers are good enough for tier one, I think she will hold off giving it to us. I honestly feel disgusted with the amount of power she has.

She said it was a difficult decision, but if she was going with the science and numbers it would have been easy. It feels almost vindictive, actually. I hope all Edinburgh SNP MSPs are out come May.

Sorry for sounding so angry.

How's everyone else doing? I guess Sunday brunch is still a possibility. I am just super dashed at the pubs/restaurants being condemned and also, not being able to go out, when I feel like we've waited ages.

JamesMoriarty · 08/12/2020 17:07

Checking in.
Gutted for Edinburgh folk, it makes no sense.

Rae36 · 08/12/2020 17:08

I'm Edinburgh, we're not going to get moved down this side of Christmas no matter how few cases we have. Not a chance. I could cry for all the restaurants and bars who have tried so hard and got nowhere. Total fucking pile of shit.

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 08/12/2020 17:13

She does love that “difficult decision” line - I just hear “ignored the facts & did what I wanted”

Great thread title Grin

dancemom · 08/12/2020 17:13

Tier 3 here, will kind of miss being a dirty Tier 4 instead of a grubby Tier 3 ....

Is there really much difference between 2 and 3?

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 08/12/2020 17:13

waves hello

Stats made a good point in the last thread about students potentially being given lower (or higher) grades than they would otherwise have gotten.

I'm glad DD is not at exam stage yet (S2) because otherwise I'd be really nervous for her grades.

I wonder if S3/4/5 option choices will be influenced by Covid though. Would some subjects be dropped from the options form due to social distancing I wonder e.g. drama?

Rae36 · 08/12/2020 17:22

John Swinney on Radio Scotland right now-

"Yes numbers in Edinburgh have been going down but they have also been going up".

Well there we go, load of fucking bullshit. I'm not listening to any of them any more. It just depresses me.

randomsabreuse · 08/12/2020 17:24

Disappointed we're still in tier 3 as it means still in "movement restrictions" so no Safari Park visit for us and it's a one off Christmas Opening. Nothing really changes that matters and I'm not going to brave the shops unless they're miraculously not even more rammed than normal shopping hell.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 08/12/2020 17:25

Former dirty tier 4 here raring to get to a cafe next week.

These threads are a breath of fresh air.

Bytheloch · 08/12/2020 17:29

It’s such an odd message to send out- you can’t break any rules (don’t travel into Glasgow, etc) but we don’t have to follow our own tier rules, that we set out.
They’ve broken their own tier rules.

OP posts:
mondaywine · 08/12/2020 17:33

I’m so fed up of having to be almost better than the tier guideline numbers or you don’t get moved down. To be in tier 2 you really seem to have to almost have tier 1 figures. I fear we will never move in Midlothian now.

WouldBeGood · 08/12/2020 17:53

@theotherfossilsister you’re quite right; the criteria are either met or they’re not- no decision to be made 🤷🏻‍♀️

user1487194234 · 08/12/2020 17:56

It's all about power and control for NS
Really thought better of her
Hospitality industry being hung out to dry
I don't think she likes to see people having a good time
Mind you she doesn't look like she has had a good night out in her life

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 08/12/2020 18:01

Mind you she doesn't look like she has had a good night out in her life Grin this is why they always show her being oh so animated watching the men’s football
Although didn’t she have some fun with a sausage roll once?

anon444877 · 08/12/2020 18:07

I suspect NS's idea of a good time is election night!

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 18:10

Mind you she doesn't look like she has had a good night out in her life

I can safely say she's not on my fantasy dinner party guest list.

user1487194234 · 08/12/2020 18:10

Hopefully not this year

Bikingbear · 08/12/2020 18:12

What in her white "shag me" shoes??Smile

I really am so angry at the games she is play. She really is playing games with peoples lives.
People don't like Boris and I can get it. But actually I hate her, really hate her.

titsbumfannythelot · 08/12/2020 18:14

😆 never have a pair of shoes screamed 'give me a good rogering' less

dementedma · 08/12/2020 18:15

NS is a power mad despot. she makes my blood boil and STILL people say she’s doing a good job!!!

WouldBeGood · 08/12/2020 18:17

People do seem to love being told what to do. It’s weird

Alittlewornout · 08/12/2020 18:19

Always follow this thread but dont offen post. You lot keep me going when I feel a bit down. Totally scunnered with the tier debacle am in Edinburgh and had visions of a glass of wine at lunch with my pal on Saturday. That will teach me to get my hopes up!!
On a positive note I am getting my freedom, I mean covid vaccine on Friday. Wonder if we will get a wee vaccine passport thing??
Will let you all know how it goes.

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 18:23

Wonder if we will get a wee vaccine passport thing??

I understand that, despite being told that a covid passport was definitely not going to be a thing, you get a wee card that they suggest you keep. Now, i might be a cynic but.....
