Thread #3456

Released from our dirty T4, but still bamboozled. Let’s keep each other sane on here...

Or the uk wide strategy needs changing AND scotland needs to do better on the parts that are already devolved to it?

I agree @Wbeezer we need to get beyond what plays well on Twitter.

Bikingbear · 16/12/2020 18:26

Just me that doesn't see the difference between meeting the same folk for 1 day verses 3 days?

Crackers I was having another think. Would it work to use length of plastic down pipe, and fill it with individual nut packs and maybe some crisps?

randomsabreuse · 16/12/2020 18:45

The Scandinavian countries all have a fairly puritan attitude to alcohol and their prices make UK look cheap. Especially Iceland, but all have special shops only.

Iceland and Norway both are very keen on their duty free - massive shops in arrivals before customs, the queues are generally bigger than those for the toilets!

Dinnafashyersel · 16/12/2020 18:46

Not just you Biking. Literally just had this conversation over tea. If anything would have thought meeting up with the same people for 3 days would be better than a flying visit before returning home to "bump into" all and sundry.

titsbumfannythelot · 16/12/2020 19:39

I got an email from EasyJet regarding eu travel as of January. I found other thoroughly depressing reading about the impacts of such self sabotage.

Bikingbear · 16/12/2020 20:09

The only thing the additional guidelines do is make it clear it's one bubble not different folk on different days.

Crackers, what will work best?
2 of the Jaffa tubes stuck together and some perforations round them
2 bits of pipe, slightly wider so more options to stuff them.
Or roll using flat card, using mini pringles tubes, to get the circular effect. And stuff other stuff, mini nut bags, masks and hats between the mini pringles tubes.

WouldBeGood · 16/12/2020 21:06

Back to full lockdown after Christmas?

Wbeezer · 16/12/2020 21:11

We should fortify bread and milk with Vitamin D in Scotland, its linked to all sorts of things that we have issues with in Scotland. Wouldnt surprise me at all if it had something to do with Northern European drug problems.

Outsidemum1 · 16/12/2020 21:17

I agree.

Bikingbear · 16/12/2020 21:18

Probably, so you know what, you might as well enjoy Christmas.

People are really missing family and I absolutely hate the notion 'Its one Christmas'. If it was just Christmas it would be fine, but it's Christmas on top of months of not seeing family and not knowing when people are going to be able to see each other in comfort next.
People have had enough and need a break and something concrete to actually look forward too.

Yes I coped with a write-off Christmas a 5 Christmases ago, and the one before that wasn't braw, the next two weren't great, and last year was dealing with the aftermath. I really want a Christmas.

Mrsjayy · 16/12/2020 21:19

I thought bread was fortified in Scotland ?

Mrsjayy · 16/12/2020 21:19

Scrub that it's folic acid that it's fortified with sorry

Bikingbear · 16/12/2020 21:20

That was replying to WouldbeGood on lockdown

WouldBeGood · 16/12/2020 21:21

I’m not very fussed about Christmas but I’m very fussed about more detention

WouldBeGood · 16/12/2020 21:22

Suppose it’s each to their own

Bikingbear · 16/12/2020 21:23

I think we are going to be detained Christmas or not.

Tierful · 16/12/2020 21:23

I'm actually really dreading post Christmas. I know days will start to get longer but it'll be such a long dark cold gloomy time if we can't go anywhere or see anyone.

WouldBeGood · 16/12/2020 21:28

Me too @Tierful

Outsidemum1 · 16/12/2020 21:40

The German PM has closed everything to prevent the possibility of there being 500 deaths post Christmas. We already have that daily yet the PM's refusing to reign in the five day free for all. January/ February I wouldn't be surprised if we're back at 1,000 deaths a day. I REALLY hope not but I fear it's going to be a s*itshow.
On a lighter note, the drug deaths map makes me want to move to Australia!

WouldBeGood · 16/12/2020 21:53

Rein in.

And this thread is about Scotland.

Outsidemum1 · 16/12/2020 21:59

I have been up since half four this morning and typing with a sleeping child under one arm... my typo could be worse.

WouldBeGood · 16/12/2020 22:00

Did you mean FM?

Outsidemum1 · 16/12/2020 22:01
  • have been worse Grin
JamesMoriarty · 16/12/2020 22:03

Totally agree with this. Vitamin deficiencies cause all sorts of problems.
anon444877 · 16/12/2020 22:05

But in Germany, in lockdown, still 5 people from 2 households allowed to meet indoors and more at Christmas time...
