Thread #3456

Released from our dirty T4, but still bamboozled. Let’s keep each other sane on here...

@WaxOnFeckOff that exactly what I thought would happen. Rightly or wrongly I think we will need it for travel purposes at the very least.

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 18:27

@WouldBeGood

People do seem to love being told what to do. It’s weird
Yes, all sitting with bated breath on the gospel from St Nicola of Go-van with the commandments -

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbours sitooterie...
Thou shalt not travel to the Glesca to buy yer pal senga a wee bunnet for the cauld nights
Thou shalt not have yer evening meal any later than 5 o'clock...

Bytheloch · 08/12/2020 18:29

International travel with your wee card makes sense- no different to the jabs/tablets that are recommended for particular areas.
Let’s hope we’re not heading for times when the card has to be flashed at IKEA on the bypass.

Alittlewornout · 08/12/2020 18:38

Absolutely @Bytheloch I agree with that for international travel provided it works both ways and Britain ensures those entering our shores have had it ( if they are able).

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 18:40

I don't they can do that with no alternative. Folk at the bottom of the pile might be waiting until summer before they reach the front of the queue for vaccination and therefore wouldn't be able to take the risk of booking anything. You'd have halve of the family done and the other not. I think countries will just carry on with rapid tests on leaving and/or arrival.

PapsofJura · 08/12/2020 18:43

What a load of bollocks, now in tier 3 but apparently can’t go into Glasgow shopping even though I’m effectively in a suburb.

@Alittlewornout might need to borrow your card so I can get past border control and into John Lewis!

Bytheloch · 08/12/2020 18:46

Oh absolutely, I am impacted by that if it’s mandatory for travel (siblings overseas), I just think it’s fair enough to incorporate into travel. Vaccines for travel currently are advisory only, but I’m assuming this one will potentially be linked to your travel insurance policy?

Also, like current vaccines you’ll be able to pay privately for it if you wish to travel. Unfair, sure, but inevitable.

Alittlewornout · 08/12/2020 18:51

@WaxOnFeckOff yes I agree with you wouldn't work this year but countries are asking for a negative test before you fly, I suppose I really meant in the mid to longer term future it may be a requirement.
@PapsofJura will send it over to you but unfortunately it wont be fully stamped til January and the second dose.
This reminds me of the fake ID to get into clubs when I was just a few years younger than I am now!!Grin

Cismyfatarse · 08/12/2020 18:52

Call me an old cynic but evidence to the Salmond enquiry thing from Nick's husband was today. And Swinney announced the SQA stuff, plus vaccine.

Attempt to bury that down the news agenda? Or coincidence?

Also, vaccine on the same day as tiers were announced.

Sleekit.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 08/12/2020 19:00

@Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons

Mind you she doesn't look like she has had a good night out in her life Grin this is why they always show her being oh so animated watching the men’s football Although didn’t she have some fun with a sausage roll once?
I did not need that image
Bikingbear · 08/12/2020 19:02

Skeekit very, skeekit.

Bikingbear · 08/12/2020 19:04

I think airlines are looking for negative tests too, it give confidence to other passengers that nobody is polluting the air in the tin tube.

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 19:14

Mr Sturgeon looks just as slimey and sleekit as Salmond does. Neither the kind you'd like to help you to the taxi rank if you were tipsy after a night out.

Dinnafashyersel · 08/12/2020 19:18

Evening all. No longer clarty 4. Moving to tier 3 makes little difference to me. Unimpressed that the Local Authority rather than Health Board limits on travel have been kept.
Pretty sure the vaccine card is just to keep track of which vaccine you had when and timing of boosters - much like the Red Book for children. They are not sure how long it is effective for so will need to keep records for follow up.

Not much point in mandatory vax for travel for same reason as UK not closing borders early on. Most countries have community infection and so travellers are no higher risk than residents. Australia, however, is starting to discuss vax as an alternative to testing and quarantine on arrival. I assume they will want more proof that vax blocks transmission before pursuing this. So far this aspect hasn't been assessed in trials.

WouldBeGood · 08/12/2020 19:18

I don’t think sausages are her thing.

WouldBeGood · 08/12/2020 19:18

Though I think her husband likes them

littlbrowndog · 08/12/2020 19:23

Hospitality on its knees in Scotland

She doesn’t same to care. Places have spent thousands to be COVID safe

My friend who lost his job in a restaurant has no hope to get another job

He has a baby coming as well

Why can’t we have a beer with our lunches. Will we go bonkers and lick at people.

Still in tier fucking three. So pissedby this

Jodri · 08/12/2020 19:24

Shock @Rae36 that’s appalling what John swinney said. No wonder education is rapidly going down the pan in Scotland! What an embarrassment.

Yes I agree @Cismyfatarse... all these announcements of levels and cancelling of sqa exams today to shove that fact that Nicola sturgeon’s husband (reluctantly) appeared before the holyrood committee to answer questions about the mess and waste of public money surrounding Alec Salmond trial. I watched a bit and he came across as very smug and untouchable. I didn’t believe a word he said.

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 19:28

Salmond and Murrell - two cheeks of the same arse as far as sleekitness, smugness and the rest go.

Boak. Bet they've got so much dirt on one another
JaggyJumper · 08/12/2020 19:34

I’ve been a lurker on this for a while but pissed off enough to comment now. Another one in Edinburgh here 😞 I have a friend with a pub that doesn’t do food and they are really struggling. With a mix up to do with the grants they haven’t had a penny in since September. How is this ok to be happening I really don’t understand her reasoning!

Bytheloch · 08/12/2020 19:37

I’m absolutely gutted for the hospitality industry in T3, those still there who may have ordered in supplies in preparation for a T2 status and particularly those coming back in from T4, reopening on Saturday as cafes, shutting by 6pm.
I hope some of them rebel and just reopen tomorrow, why wait until Friday (actually Saturday due to the 6pm tier change) to operate as a cafe? 🤷‍♀️

Oh that made me laugh. Had to read it to DH who is fair tricket with it.

Thanks for the smiles 😁

In the real world, I would think you might be asked to step down from presenting at a high profile event the same day your husband was answering questions (that involved mentioning you) in connection to legal matters. Real world rules don’t apply here though.

Two cheeks of the same arse.......definitely something my wee granny would have said.
