Srtraw Poll - What's wrong with sleeping with somone on the first date?

I think if you want to and feel comfortable, what's the big deal?

It still seems to be a bit taboo and I'm wondering why.

Interested to hear other people's thoughts anyway.

I think reality holds the record !

Can anyone beat an hour ?

TLESinChristmasStockings · 01/12/2009 16:43

Reality is the record holder.

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 01/12/2009 16:43

If you go on to have a relationship with him, he'll never forget that you had sex with him on the first date. He may even bring it up now and again...

Rhubarb · 01/12/2009 16:44

My dh was so pissed off with waiting that he threatened to dump me.

I told him to dump me then. He didn't.

But with dh, because he was such a good friend for ages, it took me a while to start fancying him iykwim. I loved him, but the sexual attraction took a while, because it didn't feel right to be sleeping with one of my close mates.

Before that I had a boyfriend who apologised when his hand brushed past my breasts after date 10 of sitting on his bed listening to U2 tracks. I dumped him.

Another one I slept with but I had known him a while and we'd dated briefly.

Another I nearly slept with and am very glad I didn't as he was a tosser who would almost certainly have touted it around (he WAS a friend of that infamous band).

Those are the memorable ones.

i can see why he fell in love with you so quickly reality....you're a very interesting person...and alot deeper than you come across on here....

TLESinChristmasStockings · 01/12/2009 16:49

Mind you a first date can be ages after you met lol....well 7 days seemed like ages to me as i wanted to jump dp's bones the night i met him but he was a gentleman...he had it all planned by the 3rd day of texting/calling (febuary) he was taking me away in the APRIL for a weekend....he really expected me to wait that long???????

BitOfFun · 01/12/2009 16:49

I am pure class compared to Reality- I spent until the pub shut before anything happened

I then outclassed her again by shagging DP in my car

daftpunk · 01/12/2009 16:49

and i'm hopeless at giving compliments....

Janos · 01/12/2009 16:50

But, but, but..

There's an assumption here that the woman secretly wants or is hoping for a relationship.

Maybe she just wants to have some fun too?

Reality. You must be some hot stuff!

Rhubarb · 01/12/2009 16:51

dp, I had to laugh at your backhanded compliment to reality there! I'm sure she'll take it was it was meant though!

You're all slaaaaags!

TLESinChristmasStockings · 01/12/2009 16:51

Theres the thing see it is more sociably acceptable for men to just want fun and women to want to be all homely etc....

TLESinChristmasStockings · 01/12/2009 16:52

lol AF

Rhubarb · 01/12/2009 16:53

dp loves ME actually!

AnyFucker · 01/12/2009 16:57

hey rhubarb, I am sure you can all spread the love around

BitOfFun · 01/12/2009 17:04

You don't have to be angling for a relationship though if you sleep together on the first date. I have had relationships that started like that, but I've had several more who I was quite happy to have in and out within the hour too

SolidGoldBangers · 01/12/2009 17:12

Look, sorry but I win. I have had sex with several people within 10 minutes of meeting them.

SO ner.

AnyFucker · 01/12/2009 17:15

yep, should have remembered sgb

when you say several, do you mean all at the same time ?

AnyFucker · 01/12/2009 17:16

just out of interest sgb, what did you even bother doing in the 10 mins delay ??

are you ok reality... you have had your slapper crown snatched from you

lou33 · 01/12/2009 17:46

i'm pretty sure i have ended up in bed with men in under an hour (in fact i can think of 2 or 3 immediately) had my fun and left it there

ive also had relationships that started in that way

i dont understand why women have to have a deeper reason to have sex as and when it suits, other than they want to

Unlikelyamazonian · 01/12/2009 17:47

um, they might be dangerous and you don't know them, bodies in the basement, it's good to wake up the next day, what about his girlfriend/wife, no coffee next morning, you wake up in Swindon and actually live on Mull, he has a skanky dick and the condom blew, his wife is in the next room/his doberman on the end of the bed,

I am not a prude but it's not always safe.
