Why hasn't he asked me out again??!

Met this bloke online-dating. He was very keen, chased me until I agreed to go out with him. We met for dinner and had such a good time. He walked me home, brief kiss on lips.

Next day he was text-happy, arranging second date. I couldn't see him for a week, and he kept in touch, even going back to the online-dating site and sending me a really sweet message to say he missed me so much, he had to look at my photos.

Second date was lunch. I felt very shy but we had a good laugh. I did tell him that I had a couple more coffee-dates with online men coming up (and was going speeddating). Maybe that was a mistake, but it was true!

That day, he kissed me on the cheek, sent a few more texts (keen ones) then... nuthin. I've had one more text and a couple of friendly but platonic emails.

WHY???!!!! I really like him, what is going on?

Please don't tell me to "tell him you like him" as I'm too cynical. Surely if he liked me, he'd ask me out again?

And here was me thinking we were in the 21st century...

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 11:15

See, even Snorbs thinks you need to contact him(I think).

FabIsNotFab · 24/11/2009 11:20

If you like him and think it might go somewhere, not necessarily life long, then please text him.

Don't end up like me fgs.

Portofino · 24/11/2009 11:28

Good grief woman. Most likely he thinks you are off having a whale of time with other blokes and his pride won't let him contact you. At least text him! "Hi, how are you doing, wondered if you wanted to meet up again". I SO don't agree that he is only worth having if he pursues you.

thesunshinesbrightly · 24/11/2009 11:42

Beaytiful, will not text him, will not call him, tells him she is going on other dates, emails briefly, that say's alot, i think she is obviously not that into him or completely stubborn, so i don't think it is worth a talking about anymore, she probley scared him off.

thesunshinesbrightly · 24/11/2009 11:42

lol! Listen, I can't

Think we should give up.

The thread was about 'why hasnt he asked me out' - answer above in last post.

Op, never asked if she should call or text him, i think we should leave it at that.

BEAUTlFUL · 24/11/2009 11:51

It might change your opinion if I told you that I don't think this man is 100% honest. Some of his texts have been astonishingly keen, beyond anything that I've ever had before! So much so that I'm thinking he might just be a player.

That's why I'm leaving it. If he meant 1/100th of what he said, he should be here now, proposing. But because he has drifted away (still no word from him), I'm thinking it was all just a flattery-fest to try to get in my pants!

thesunshinesbrightly · 24/11/2009 11:53

Why didn't you say so, intead of letting us go on and on at you?

thesunshinesbrightly · 24/11/2009 11:56

You dont want too hear from him anyway if he is not honest, so why even waste your time, thinking about it.

Disenchanted3 · 24/11/2009 11:57

WTF?

BEAUTlFUL · 24/11/2009 11:57

Sunshine, I sense you are annoyed by this thread?

Finally at page 5 you explain! god, that was a long time coming.

QueenOfHearts22 · 24/11/2009 12:01

I think it's just a bit - well, your previous messages only acknowleged posters who you agreed with (ie to ignore him), and then you didn't give the full story...so maybe that's why some posters are a bit

Remotew · 24/11/2009 12:02

In that case go with your instincts and don't contact him again. Onwards and upwards.

thesunshinesbrightly · 24/11/2009 12:03

when people have given you advice on here and you brush it off with nooooo i cant, then at page 5 give the reason, infact it is quite but i cant help but think he has had a lucky escape

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 12:29

TUT!

Rindercella · 24/11/2009 12:30

Sheesh. Well, that explains everything then. Don't bother to call or text him, just leave it.

OrmIrian · 24/11/2009 12:32

????

This is all too weird.

BEAUTlFUL · 24/11/2009 13:13

Oooh, harsh, sunshine! Sorry everyone. I feel I've wasted your time. Yesterday I was just so confused about this, and had to post here to get your views. I should have mentioned his over-keeness, but I forgot it yesterday in my longing for him to just ring. I hope I don't sound absolutely barking.

I have loved the advice - for and against contacting him - and will bear it in mind for any future blokes! Sorry again for being a pain. I am

hey, don't be

if he had been coming on strong, then that in itself is hard to handle when it's unexpected, and you DO question yourself when you have been hurt or are not used to it. You may well have been overly excited by the attention ( natural). I feel like a teenager, cos i have been out of the game ( single) for 5 yrs, and it's been a long time since i met someone new (ie -my exdh in 1995).

aseriouslyblondemoment · 24/11/2009 13:22

hey beautiful don't worry it's all part of getting back into the dating game again
hop onto the man thread on lone parents to keep us updated with this bloke and all the others you've got lined up

purplepeony · 24/11/2009 13:37

I think you should at least out him by initial or vague location so other females can be warned! come on, tell us...

ABetaDad · 24/11/2009 13:42

FGS! He is a single bloke! He was/is keen! You have backed off but feel keen still! He has not heard from you and knows you went out with other blokes! He is not sure what is happening! You want him to call!

Blokes are simple creatures. Nice attractive woman wants to be with us = life just got a whole lot better.
