Dating someone shorter than you?

All my ex's have mostly been 5'11 to over 6ft (I'm 5'8) I've just started dating someone and he's reasonable looking but he's only about my height, maybe slightly shorter. If I wear boots with slight heels I'm definitely taller than him.
Would this give you the ick? Or not bother you?

Not shorter, but the same height, so I am taller in heels. My ex was also a good bit taller. It's nice being the same height; good for kissing, holding hands, just looking him in the eye - feels very equal. I used to think I preferred taller men but I'd go for this height again now.

I always wanted a tall boyfriend. I’ve had only one. I’m 5ft 9.5.
DH is 5.10 so pretty much the same height in flats.

He is the shortest guy I have dated and tbh it did bother me a little at the start, but he is really nice so I've had to have a word with myself

I'm 6ft and always been self conscious about my height, always thought I would only date tall men but met my husband who is 5ft 10 and it's never an issue! I don't wear heels though! X

shorter has always been ok.

I am 5ft 1, I never actually met a guy my height, although I do prefer guys taller then me, mainly because I wonder how the hell we would reach things otherwise.

I prefer taller, bigger guys. I am very tall and not skinny! So taller than me but skinny gives me the ick a bit, but taller and broad shouldered or a bit chunky is my preference. I've been out with shorter guys and would again if there was a special spark, but when I'm OLD I generally only swipe right if the height is good for me as there I'm judging purely off appearances.

My ex was a couple of inches shorter than me and it never bothered me.
Current long term DP is about an inch taller and I don’t care. I’m taller than him in heels but it’s not an issue. He’s practically perfect in every way

I'm 5'8, at the minimum they would have to be the same height but would prefer a taller man and not skinny either as I'm not.

I'm 160cms and have dated men of varying heights. Only ever met one who was my sort of height. It turns out I can cope with any height but do need a powerful set of shoulders.

Herring shoulders just doesn't work for me

My DP is the same height and weight as me while all my exes were 6’ plus. I actively prefer DP not just because he’s steadfast, supportive and great in bed but also because it feels more like an equal relationship given the parity in size.

I wouldn’t date a shorter man. It’s just a big turn off for me.

DH is 5'8" and I'm 5'10", it doesn't bother either of us.

I'm four inches taller than my dh. Never bothered us at all

I am 5"9 and my DB is 5'7.5. So if I wear heels I tower over him. It doesn't bother either of us one bit. We make a joke of it and he says he is proud to have such beautiful tall woman on his arm. I don't consider myself beautiful by the way , but I am in his eyes which is lovely.

You could be ruling out a relationship with a wonderful person just because of their height.
I do get it that you need to be attracted to him though and if you genuinely are not then that's it, however is it actually his height that is the issue or something else ? I think if you genuinely liked him a lot the height thing would not be an issue .

I feel.small beside him anyway as he has a very big build, he is a rugby player.

All previous partners/bfs were a good bit taller than me, but couldn’t last the course

It's personal choice. I'm not attracted to men similar to my height and even 5'8 is a turn off as I love heels. But lots of men and women don't mind!

I was bothered for about 10 seconds when we met. If you click with someone, you'd have to be an idiot to not date them on height alone

More likely to get the Ucl from lack of body hair than height. Height is a non issue to me
