What is this on my DP's back? Done by another woman?

What is this? Anyone with any knowledge? Dentist etc? Suspect possibility of love bite. Left by other woman on purpose? He's prone to binge-drinking and falling over. How likely is it there's an innocent explanation?

All this about bruises and biting is making me queasy...

...But yes, if he's prone to binge-drinking and falling down and you suspect he might have slept with another woman, you have bigger problems than this bruise.

Dentists? 😂 OP you need to address the binge drinking, and the falling over.
Forensic analysis of a bruise by a dentist is not needed.

The back isn't the easiest spot to dish out a love bite, or is it?

I am not overly experienced on this so if it's a normal thing to do clearly I need to get a life.

@tabulahrasa

“Can someone have their husband get drunk and bump into a variety of projecting objects and take photos for research purposes?”

I could maybe just push him into stuff? I mean, I feel the bruising wouldn’t be much different?...

LOL, the urge to "just push him into stuff" is why I am now single, unless you count the female cat. Who does count it, BTW.

That could be from absolutely anything don't think it's a love bite odd shape.

It looks like a love bite to me too.

I'm not sure how long it's been since some of the posters here have actually seen one. It isn't the colour or shape of a normal bruise.

Errr that's. a bruise. Loads of ways that type of bruise can be made. Unless there are other signs and a drip feed coming then I'd not question this.

It’s definitely a love bite. No doubt about it. You can see the lip marks

Of course there is doubt. I'm forever cropping up with weird and wonderful bruises like this in odd places and trust me no one has been near me with their mouth for a very long time! It doesn't look at all like a love bite to me due to shake and pattern.

I know I'm heavily pregnant with twins and can't remember when i last had sex but is giving love bites on your partners back really a thing???? And logistically how did they manage it? Maybe I need to re read 50 Shades of Grey 🤣🤣

Given the state of this thread, it could be anything anyone wants it to be Grin

FWIW, I've always known a love bite to be a bruise, just caused in a specific way, and hickey is a slang word for love bite.

I'm with you. The last time anyone was near me with their mouth was (by my choice, BTW) October 31, 2007. And yes, it was that memorable. And yes, I've had MANY bruises that look very much like that since then.

I had a weird lice bite like mark after having physio and complaining of frozen shoulder and she massage pressed bits along my arm and side. It's right under my underarm. Which would be a very unsexy place for a lovebite, particularly as I didn't bother shaving arm pits during lockdown as much!

I've bitten DP a few times. It looks EXACTLY like that afterwards as I never think I'm doing it that hard but he seems to mark quite easily. I'm serious OP, it is the same as when I bite. It's not just a bruise.

Have you actually asked your DH what it is? What's his explanation?

Shark bite.

Or squid.

Does he get drunk and "accidentally" fall into fishmongers' by any chance?

As I said lots of bruises from non bites look the same so just because your bites might look the same doesn't mean it definitely isn't an innocent bruise. Also do you note your husbands back? Because I imagine that's tricky and would leave a different mark than somewhere rather more accessible.

Think through how a love note for in your head, it's from the suction in-between the lips, not the teeth or lips themselves, love bits tend to be a full colour or red near the surface from where the suction has happened and tends to be in an oval shape, I had one a couple weeks ago.

It looks like a bruise with two distinct straight lines on the top and bottom, he's fallen on something or bashed into something.

So inconclusive Op, hoping that’s not a photo of your husbands dead body and you’re testing a jury.

Pointless post, though amusing thread. If someone literally bit him using their teeth, then it could be a love bite. Back in the day the "love bites" I received (once necessitating a lot of scarf wearing for a few days!) were caused by sucking which I think is what most people mean by a love bite. But hey, I'm sure others are into actual use of the teeth. And goodness knows what else either. If we're referencing 50 Shades, could be due to a beating of some sort.
